All of those years with high lottory picks and we couldn't get that super star. Not that we missed on a lot of them we just didn't get the lottory balls to draft a few picks higher. Some years when we got a top 3 pick it just happen to be years where there wasn't that super star. We missed Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Deron Williams. I know I'm missing some. I mean, if only we got one or two slots higher we would have got one of these guys and be in pretty good shape. Oh well. That's the way it goes. Instead, our lottory guys were Elton Brand, Tyson Chandler, Eddie Curry, Jason Williams, Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, and Jokim Noah. That sucks. |

Im positive Jay Williams would be in the discussion of best PGs in the league right now if he wasnt a dumbass on that motorcycle. |

No. He wouldn't have been one of the best. He might have been decent. What an idiot. He cost himself 80-100 million in future NBA salaries. He would have made at least that much even if he was just a decent player. |

He looked like a bad pick even before the accident. Besides that triple double game he looked like a black Kirk Hinrich. Looking back at 2002, there wasn't much in that draft after Yao. Caron Butler was picked 10th. Amare went 9th but he was coming out of HS. Boozer went 35th. Tayshaun Prince went 23rd. That was a pretty poor draft. |

As usual, I couldnt disagree with you more Nas. Jay Williams would have been a multiple All Star in this league. I dont get the Kirk comparison. He was way tougher than Kirk, could score in the paint way better, had better vision and ball movement, was quicker off the dribble. He had a ton of promise. |

Nas wrote: He couldn't shoot and made a bunch of poor decisions with the basketball. Sounds like a young Baron Davis from what I remember of Charlotte back in the day. |

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3600 He was a rookie. I go by the eye test more than stats. And I dont see anything wrong with those stats for a rookie playing on an abysmal team. |

We always seem to just miss on a top player every year in the draft. And this year, we'll probably get a pick in the #10-#12 range. |

Is he going pro this year? I dont follow much college basketball, but Ive watched a couple games with Texas this season and he looks like a cant-miss top tier NBA PG. |

That's about it. Maybe he would shoot better in later years but he would have never been a super star. Never. |

I've seen him play about half-dozen times this year, and the guy can certainly take over games in Big 12 play. I've seen some talk that he could rise up the board and be taken around the Top 10, and with all the talk about PG's taking over the league, a good tourney could help him rise. I worry about a little bit about his size....I think he's under 6 feet, and he's still not a consistent shooter, but he looks like he's a pretty solid leader on the court. |

IIRC the Bulls were in discussions about trading Williams at the time he crashed his motorcycle. |
