http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Al4lpl0P_Hdsra.c45d9i_w5nYcB?slug=ys-bullscoach042208&prov=yhoo&type=lgns I don't know what to think. He's obviously a great college coach but I think the success rate of the college to NBA jump is so small that it's probably not worth the risk. I also found it interesting that John Calipari tried to get involved in the Bulls job, but was rebuffed. It won't matter who the coach is though with how broken the current team is. |

That is true, but Tom Izzo is 10 times the coach Tim Floyd ever was or ever will be. Also, even though Tim Floyd was bad, that team was worse. Tim Floyd should have gotten hazard pay for coaching that roster. |

Yeah, I was just being silly. You're right...Izzo is a good coach and I'd rather employ the wait-and-see mentality rather than to be overly negative right away. And you're also right about the quality of the Floyd teams. As bad as this current team is I'd never want to go back to those days. Understanding that Floyd sucked, I also think there wasn't a coach alive that could've gotten anything out of that team. |

I'd rather have Rick Carlisle but Izzo would be interesting. |

What's the difference in styles between Carlisle and Izzo? They both preach defense first. It might be a money issue since Carlisle would probably demand a high salary than Izzo because he's 'proven' at the NBA level. I would expect Carlisle to get a looksie by the Bulls before Izzo. |

I don't like any of these choices. Would they be restricted from talking to Laimbeer? |

Isiah's looking for work. Maybe they call him. He'd be a fantastic hire. |

I may be way off base on this one but does anyone else think that Tubby Smith might make a decent coach or is he just a college guy? Too laid back? Seems to know X's and O's but not ready for the grind of a full NBA schedule as well as the personalities? Made a decent turnaround for Minnesota this year and I think he has some skills, maybe needs some seasoning as an assistant first? Bulls may need someone with more of a headstrong mentality. |
