I just heard Marc Stein on AM1000 with Van Pelt and Tafoya, and he said that Mike D'Antoni to the Bulls would instantly make them a 50 win team. Am I grossly underestimating the talent on the Bulls' roster or D'Antoni's coaching ability, or is this guy talking out his backside? |

Van Pelt isnt terrible as a radio host, but from all the times I've heard him he doesnt seem to know much about the NBA. I think the Bulls can easily be a top 4 seed in the East with the right moves though. If they hired D'Antoni, they would almost certainly need to resign Gordon if the money were correct. I'd prefer to somehow get rid of Kirk and bring in a guy like TJ Ford, the perfect PG for D'Antoni. I also dont think D'Antoni would love Noah all that much. It's possible Tyrus would really blossom in his system, and Deng would also play very well in that system. They could win 50 games next year, but they need to tweak the roster a bit I think. D'Antoni is without a doubt the best coach available right now, but I dont see the Bulls paying up to get him. |

By matching any deal the Bulls can keep him or sign and trade him. The Bulls would be idiots not to match any deal. Remember this is the same guy they wouldn't give up for Kobe or Garnett. I was just saying no to matching any deal, I guess unless they know for sure a sign and trade is in place. Let's say someone like Charlotte, Memphis, Seattle, Philly, etc. is stupid enough to offer him 5 years $80 million. Without a sign and trade in place you would match that? |
