Imo, Reinsdorf comes off looking like an idiot and a crybaby here...

He told D'Antoni he wasn't going to have an offer done over the weekend. The Knicks did, and I'm sure it was more than what Jerry was going to offer anyway. What a surprise he too the Knicks job....

In a couple years we we will be glad D'A did not come here. He is going to flop in NY in a big way. Nash, Stoud, Marion, Etc are not in NY and never will be.

The Bulls will be just fine without this guy.

I'm not debating that he is or isn't a good fit in Chicago, only Reinsdorf crying about being misled or whatever

I agree that it's not a huge loss or anything...I don't want Avery Johnson though

Agreed. Perhaps I am underestimating the complexities of receiving agreement on a multi-year deal, but the Bulls were slow too the punch here. We all heard the rumors about the Knicks, as early as Thursday, preparing to offer him a big deal, and the Bulls response is to say that they can't get it done that quickly.

Why?

That's not the point. The point is the Bulls were slow, and didn't show the urgency (and possibly the $$) that the Knicks did.

The point to me is this is not going to matter in the big scheme. If we had been fast and gotten D'A we would end up with a big flop as well. I am glad that they took their time and did not jump at this "hot" guy, and I think as the next few years go by many of us will be glad.

I won't argue that it may not matter. It would just be refreshing to see the Bulls operate with a bit more urgency since they have now admitted they wanted him to coach the team.

I agree if you have a guy pegged as "the guy" you go get him and do whatever it takes.

However, I just don't really think they was sold on him as "the guy", thus their lack of urgency.

Agreed, and for that matter I wasn't sold on him one bit.

I'm kind of glad he isn't coming.

There are direct quotes from Reinsdorf saying he was the guy they wanted.

"I never tell the general manager who he has to hire, but I do have veto power," Reinsdorf said. "After meeting with Mike, I told John I was inclined to negotiate a contract and John made it clear he wanted Mike."

I think Im the only guy in town who wanted this guy as our coach. He's much better than any other guy out there.

We clearly saw the Bulls players walk all over Boylan and disrespect him

From what I've heard about D'Antoni he's a pretty hands-off coach and very non-confrontational. I'm not sure that's what the team needs right now.

I'm not sure they need another red ass like Skiles but I think they need to find some middle ground

I agree with Reinsdorf choice not to hire Mike D.

Just wish he didn't keep crying about getting screwed by people , when the fact is he didn't want the guy
