Post subject:  Deal or No Deal?

A few days ago, it was reported that Doug Collins was going to leave his NBA Analyst job with Turner Sports and become the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls. Multiple sources such as the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune & ESPN.com's Marc Stein all reported that it was a done deal with Collins coming back for a second tour of duty as the Bulls' head coach. While Collins downplayed all the hubbub before Game 5 of the Spurs/Lakers' Western Conference Final on TNT, a few days have passed since the Lakers sent San Antonio home for the summer, and we are 2 days away from the NBA Finals starting in Boston. While I read that an announcement could be made in the next day or two, what is the holdup now? I also heard something from 670 "The SCORE's" George Ofman, that if the Bulls don't announce it before Thursday, they can't make any announcement until after the Finals are completed. To paraphrase Howie Mandel on that popular game show, "Deal or No Deal?"

It is a bit strange, for sure. I'm not thrilled about Collins but even less thrilled by Saunders.

And by the way I don't think you're paraphrasing Howie Mandel, that would be a quote
