Fans, it appears as if we've seen the last of Larry Hughes, one way or the other in a Bulls' uniform. For the 11th straight game, Larry received a DNP-CD in the box score of last night's 107-100 loss to the Rockets in Houston, and has been declared as "inactive" by the team for the forseeable future. Although GM John Paxson has been trying to trade the unhappy Hughes since Kirk Hinrich returned from thumb surgery, I've not heard anything new concerning a trade rumor about 3 weeks ago in which the Bulls were supposedly close to trading Larry & his contract to New Jersey for forward Bobby Simmons, formerly of DePaul, and guard Maurice Ager. There's a possibility that the Bulls may send Hughes home or be declared inactive completely for the rest of this season if trade talks involving #32 continue to go nowhere before the February 19th NBA Trade Deadline.

Well, both guys are getting paid for doing nothing... Speaking of Marbury, CoF, there's been talk that he wants to go to the Celtics, but the Knicks aren't about to let him go...to a division rival!

Translation:

Larry Hughes hasn't played in a while.

I hope he never plays again. I do love his cheap shoes though...

In my opinion, GM John Paxson is trying, but it wouldn't shock me if the trading deadline comes around February 19th and Larry is still a Bull. I'm still reminded of what Chuck Swirsky & Bill Wennington said before a Bulls' home game I believe against Washington on the ESPN Radio 1000/Bulls' pregame show. By openly wanting out of here, Chuck & Bill feel that Larry's hurting whatever trade value he has. If there's any Bull on this uneven roster who the Bulls get can more in return, it's Ben Gordon. I think you can get players for Ben with an expiring contract, but to go Chet Coppock on you, I don't think you can get a 6 pack of Budweiser for Hughes... :( If the Nets & Kings don't want Hughes, who does?

Bulls are going to be stuck with Hughes and will end up sending him home for the remainder -
