This question has been bugging me for some time. I remember Storming Norm breaking down on one of the post game shows as he did not understand why the Bulls organization had never been shown any respect by retiring his jersey. Tonight was another example. In honoring Kerr, you would think he would be one of the Bull's great players who would be invited to honor "Big Red". I am not a Bulls history buff, so I may be missing something. What happened? Did he piss off Reinsdorf?! What is the elephant sitting in the room? Someone enlighten me!

Maybe because he is prone to publicly complaining about how he has been mistreated by the Bulls organization?

I'm not sure the Bulls' front office really hates Norm Van Lier...I do believe he & Kendall Gill put Mark Schanowski to shame as far as attire goes on Comcast SportsNet's "Bulls Pre/Postgame Live"! I think there have been times each of the last 2 seasons where Norm wanted to strangle Schanowski, Gill, even Luke Stuckmeyer & Chris Boden on the CSN set to get his point across about what he feels has been the lack of "attitude" and 48 minutes that he preaches from this team game in, game out. I simply think that's what the "Moving Van" can't stand when watching this team sometimes!

That's probably it. He has never been shy about ripping the hell out of the team as well...

Norm wouldn't be on Comcast if the Bulls didn't want him there. For whatever reason, Red Kerr didn't put him on the list. Besides, it goes beyond the Bulls. Norm has openly campaigned to coach at some of the are colleges without even getting a sniff.

Norms relationship with the Bulls was with Krause. That does not mean Reinsdorf dislikes him, he just doesnt see him as a coach. Norm has a good public job because of Reinsdorf, thats about as much as he is going to get from the Bulls. Norm parlays it as much as possible after that

Maybe because everytime he does a radio interview or any public appearance (not on tv) he is drunk. Have you ever heard the guy sober?
