As good as the Bulls' comeback was last night beating Yao & the Rockets, it appears to be a costly one with Luol Deng's stress fracture. ![]() |

SHARK wrote: Many callers & hosts on sports talk radio think that Deng is soft, but I think he hasn't exactly stayed healthy throughout his time in a Bulls' uniform. Bullshit. He's been healthy enough over 4 seasons for everyone to know that he's played below the team's expectations. Don't try to make excuses for the guy. |

It's amazing how many people fell in love with Deng because of the playoff series he had against the Heat when nobody was guarding him. He is a decent player who really hasn't improved that much over the past couple years. Remember when Skiles tried to sell people on the idea that Deng was going to be a low-post scoring threat? ![]() ![]() |

Not the best overall player in the draft. The Bulls said they didn't want another project to go along with the two they already had in Curry and Chandler. I don't personally think Deng is going to get much better then he is already. It seems like the league has found how to defend him or he is suffering not having a good NBA coach. I'm not sure why people think he has a high max potential when he was drafted already maxed out? |

Nas wrote: It's it time to start believing this guy is injury prone? I don't completely agree with TM's assessment of Deng. Deng had a great season coming off an injury and was only 22. It wasn't unreasonable to expect him to continue to improve. Unfortunately there was no improvement up until the past month or so. You were right about him not being an all star. I would have bet that he would have been one. He actually took a couple steps back until recently. The thing that surprises me about Deng's trajectory is that he hasn't become a good 3-point shooter. Given his strength in the mid-range game, it seems like he should be pretty good from 3-point range by now. The fact that he hasn't expanded his shooting range suggests a lax work ethic to me. On the other hand, if he has been working at developing the three but cannot do so, that is a very bad sign. One thing that I am not surprised about is his inability to be a consistent penetrator. He came into the league with mediocre ballhandling skills and limited explosiveness, and hasn't improved much in either area. At least he doesn't dribble the ball as high as he used to... |

Luol isn't playing tonight vs. Golden State, and was seeking a second opinion, a CT scan, concerning what he thinks is a stress fracture after all. Stay tuned... |

Nas wrote: Fans Luol Deng who is a SF for the Chicago Bulls had an x-ray and found out he had a stress fracture of his right tibia after injuring himself on February 28th against the Houston Rockets. After getting an MRI on Monday March 2nd he was told there wasn't a stress fracture and he might be able to play in their next game against the Bobcats that play in Charlotte. He tried to push himself before the game against the Bobcats that play in Charlotte but there was too much pain. Luol Deng the SF that signed a $71M contract last summer had a CT scan today before the Bulls played the Warriors and won 110-88 and found out that he did have a stress fracture. Luol Deng will likely miss the rest of the season because of his injury and the Bulls are going to miss him while they are fighting for the 8th and last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Yes, but which famous person does he look like? ![]() |

Krazy Ivan wrote: Yes, but which famous person does he look like? ![]() Well Ivan, I can't be sure about that. But what I am sure about is that Bulls guard John Salmons is a dead ringer for Wesley Snipes, the star actor who starred in such films as "White Men Can't Jump", "Jungle Fever", and "Passenger 57" in the early 1990s. ![]() |

On a side note, is Salmons taking Drew Goodens place as bad facial hair guy for the Bulls? One more question. Are you Jewish? |

No trade value now but he does have a chance to recover and come back at full strength . Cross your fingers and hope he doesn't become a hoops-Mark Prior. |
