Bulls' fans, you already know that Turner/TNT Sports will have the exclusive national broadcast of Thursday's regular season opener vs. the San Antonio Spurs. What you don't know is that ESPN Radio 1000, the Bulls' flagship station again this year, won't be...at least for a couple of games. Due to ESPN Radio's national broadcast of the World Series, two of the first three games will be relocated. Have your pencil and scorecard ready.

Thursday's Bulls/Spurs' opener at United Center will be carried on "The Big 89" WLS-AM with pregame coverage live from the West Side starting at 6:30p with Steve Kashul. Chuck Swirsky & Bill Wennington will have the hometown call. ESPN 1000 will have Game 2 of the Phillies/Yankees' World Series at about the same time from Yankee Stadium.

As for Sunday, WGN 720 will have the game between the Bulls & Heat in Miami starting at 4:30p with Kashul's pregame and tipoff set for just after 5p from the AmericanAirlines Arena. ESPN 1000 will have national coverage of Game 4 of the Yankees/Phillies' World Series from CitizensBank Park in Philadelphia.

ESPN 1000 will have the game Friday night between the Bulls & Celtics from TD BankNorth Garden, sandwiched in between Thursday's game vs. the Spurs & Sunday's game in Miami. Please make note of these changes.

well, that'll be the first time I've heard a Bulls game on the radio in a couple of years. Why would you put your coverage on a station that most of the western subarbs don't get well?

The reason why I posted this is to give fans the heads up in case they're out & about and nowhere near a TV tomorrow night or Sunday for that matter. It might carry over into early next week if the Phillies & Yankees play more than 4 games in the World Series. You'll thank me for this later.

For what it's worth, Bulls' Vice President of Marketing & Broadcasting Steve Schanwald knew something like this was bound to happen when the team negotiated its current contract with ESPN Radio 1000, according to Ed Sherman's blog at chicagobusiness.com.
