if the Bulls somehow manage to get a fast start, can they draw attention away from the Bears? Or does Vinny finally get exposure this season if the Bears continue to struggle?

No.

The only chance they would have to do that is if they got Lebron James and even then they likely wouldn't be any more than a side hobby until training camp starts.

Derrick Rose can't gain some of that Jordan popularity? The Bulls were the only game in town for a while...

Maybe if they come out of the gates running, I mean like 10-0 running... which isn't gonna happen...

side note: they need to stop that animated crap at the begining of games... does anyone enjoy that? now the blackhawks are starting to do shit like that  way to fire up the crowd :bball: a bunch of animated bulls running over the oposing teams bus  fucking retarded

I doubt it. The Bulls' early season schedule isn't easy, and I could easily see them starting 0-3 with the home opener tomorrow night vs. the Spurs at United Center, Friday in Boston and Sunday in Miami. While a great deal of the Bulls' talk will surround Derrick Rose and his ankle that kept him sidelined for the most part in the preseason, head coach Vinny Del Negro's job is on the line this season. A lot of "experts" have the Bulls either 6th or 7th in the Eastern Conference, and there's still a great deal of skeptism whether VDN can get the team beyond a tough 7-game series vs. the Celtics come playoff time. I think the Bulls will be in the market again for a new head coach if Vinny's Bulls don't make significant progress in a East that still sucks beyond the top 3 teams.

Is the hawks animation a bunch of injuns running over cab drivers?

This has always been, and will always likely be, a Bears town. Unless the Bears are 0-7 and the Bulls are coming off a championship year, it won't likely change.

to be fair, I didn't like the animation either. NBA team introductions used to be better in general. They hardly ever get shown nationally anymore.

Maybe from casual fans who have the attention span of a gnat.
TV fans, not ticket buyers.

whoa. Hold on.
I have been a season ticket holder for the Bears, Bulls and Cubs. I always sold a ton of them to break even and still go to some games. Popularity price wise, in order:
Cubs
Bulls
Bears
I had a heck of a time getting even face value for Bears tickets. Cubs, I made a mint and Bulls I did ok. This is recent history.

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray.

The Bulls have lost a great deal of the bandwagon fans that were here during the Jordan era. The Bears will win this weekend and will continue to be in the playoff picture, thus holding the attention of this city's sports fans.

The reason you have such a hard time getting rid of your Bears tickets has a lot to do with the outrageous price and the horrid weather.

I've got a lion in my pocket and baby he's ready to roar.

Hey Prince, who wins in a pick-up game; The Revolution or The New Power Generation?

As a way to bring the fans and love back to my Chicago Bulls, I hearby nominate myself as President to Bulls Fan Nation. I am running on a simple platform to make this team number one once again in this city. Here is what this team needs to do to get back on top:

1. Remove all tip jars from all concessions stands. C'mon now, nobody tips at concession stands anyways.

2. Erect a Scottie Pippen statue in the middle of the United Center Court. Enron Field has the hill and flagpole, well the UC is going to have me.

3. Open pharmacies all throughtout the stadium. With all the loud noises, music and cheering for the statue and our beloved Bulls, people will no doubt come down with some serious headaches. We can't have people just sitting out and not contributing to the fandom. We need to get these fans rejuvenated and on their feet and cheering, fast.

4. Hold Jerry Krause races after the third quarter. Screw the usual Dunkin Donuts race on the scoreboard, this will be a real challenge.

5. Remove all mentions of Toni Kukoc from Bulls lore. That guy just likes to steal the Thunder and needs to go back to Croatia.

You know Michael isn't up for this challenge, so you need someone to come in and be an ambassador to all the great fans. Who else are you going to pick? Brad Sellers?

Will booing white players help the cause Scottie?

PCU was rather entertaining. But why was George Clinton singing Erotic City? Not cool.[/quote]

Would you have preferred the Tom Jones version of "Kiss"?

Why can't people pay attention to more than one thing?
