A loss to the 1-19 Nets should wind the clock to start the firing countdown. "Vinny, we have a special Xmas gift for you" |

Im not a Vinny fan at all and never have been, but what is the deal with the recent "Fire Vinny" bandwagon? Im all for seeing him gone after this season, but if he is let go right now, all we will see is Bernie Bickerstaff or Pete Myers coaching this team for the rest of the year. Is this really something to look forward to? |

Is this really something to look forward to? Bernie Bickerstaff does have NBA coaching experience, most recently with the upstart Charlotte Bobcats as both Head Coach & General Manager. Unfortunately for Bernie, he doesn't do both well. If Vinny gets fired, it's Uncle Jerry's fault, Bulls fans. There is a guy currently working at ESPN in Bristol, CT who would be ideal for this franchise right now, but is currently earning millions not to after he got whacked by the Mavericks, and that's Avery Johnson. Reinsdorf needs to cut his losses and admit he erred in hiring Vinny. |

Johnson(who expressed interest in the job), he was a "grindy"/gymrat/smart player with experience & a decent, but brief record as both a coach & head coach. Whereas VDN was....once a gymrat? |

Who are we looking at - B.Scott, A.Johnson or J.Van Gundy? Anyone else? |

BD wrote: Who are we looking at - B.Scott, A.Johnson or J.Van Gundy? Anyone else? BD, Bernie Bickerstaff has NBA coaching experience, but I don't want another Jim Boylan interim situation...The love child of ABC7's Ron Magers & former Celtic and longtime NBA Assistant Dave Cowens wasn't much better when Scott Skiles was told to get lost around Christmastime 2 years ago... |

Nas wrote: BD wrote: Who are we looking at - B.Scott, A.Johnson or J.Van Gundy? Anyone else? I want Doug Collins Sorry, guys...Doug Collins is staying where he is now at the Bulls' favorite cable channel TNT. He'd rather be with Marv Albert and/or Kevin Harlan describing the action from courtside than trying to coach this mess of a team... |

BD wrote: Who are we looking at - B.Scott, A.Johnson or J.Van Gundy? Anyone else? Celtic's assistant Tom Thibodeau. His name seems to come up a lot as a prospective coach. Defensive guy. |

Defensive guy. Apologist, I remember Thibodeau's name was mentioned before Vinny somehow got the job instead. Also, remember the name Duane Casey? Once Doug Collins withdrew from consideration, the former Minnesota Timberwolves' head coach was also mentioned as a candidate for the Bulls' job...As for Byron Scott, he got whacked by the New Orleans Hornets earlier this season, but somehow guided the New Jersey Nets to the NBA Finals about 5 years or so ago. We know Avery Johnson's with ESPN, and Jeff Van Gundy works with Mark Jackson & Mike Breen as ESPN/ABC Sports' #1 NBA crew...There are some who felt Jeff got a raw deal after the Houston Rockets fired him a couple years ago... |

Bill Cowher should take over the Bears, if he can tell Shannon Sharpe to shut his piehole on "The NFL Today"...Avery Johnson should leave ESPN and try to coach the Bulls. |

BD wrote: Who are we looking at - B.Scott, A.Johnson or J.Van Gundy? Anyone else? I've been saying for a couple years, (even when Skiles had the Bulls in the playoffs) that they need to do everything possible to convince Van Gundy to leave TV and coach the Bulls. I really think he'd be a great fit here. |

As much as I would like to see Avery Johnson leave ESPN and replace VDN, the guy the Bulls should've hired is Rick Carlisle, who also worked at "The Worldwide Leader" before replacing Avery in Dallas...Carlisle is a proven winner, but has also gotten raw deals in Detroit & Indiana... |
