Also, Bulls are OUT of the Tracy McGrady discussions. Rockets to trade McGrady to Knicks. |

Joe A's on the mend, and hooping it up in Summit City: "It's a mystery STEVE WARDEN The Journal Gazette I know basketball can be a physical game. I've sprained enough ankles, had enough bruises, jammed enough fingers and even got my nose broken while playing hoops many, many, many, many years ago. I think they had just cut the bottom out of the peach basket then. Even with the physical nature, I still have trouble comprehending how, if you're 6-foot-11, as Mad Ants Jared Reiner is, you can take 13 shots in a game and miss 12 of them when you're that bloody close to the rim. This is coming from a guy who was 5-11, but has shrunk closer to 5-9. In the 94-90 Mad Ants loss to Reno on Tuesday, Reiner (1 of 12), 6-9 Joe Alexander (3 of 10) and 6-9 Rob Kurz (6 of 15) combined to make 10 of 37 shots. I suppose some credit goes to Reno's interior defense, but some of it was just a lousy night. Alexander, who is on loan from Milwaukee, is a splendid talent, but Tuesday he tried to do too much, such as a leaning finger roll that never got to the rim. That sort of thing. But - on the positive side - if Alexander stays for any length of time, he and newly-acquired guard Dan Dickau could work well together and be worth the price of admission. At this stage of the season, with the Ants 10-19, the fans need some bang for their buck. " http://www.journalgazette.net/article/2 ... 008/SPORTS |

Alexander was a bust - good athlete but doesn't translate at the NBA Level - Bucks didn't pick up his 3rd year. Warrick is a FA after this year. |

Warrick for Salmons is a better trade under the NBA's goatee cap rules. |

Warrick is basically Taj Gibson with less ability on the glass. |

The Bulls and Bucks have finally settled on a package for John Salmons, as Milwaukee will trade the expiring contracts of Joe Alexander and Hakim Warrick. Alexander was a lottery pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, but has battled injuries during most of his stay with the Bucks. Salmons becomes a free agent after the 2010-11 season. |

Bucks appear early winners of this trade, pending how the Bulls do in the off-season free agent lottery. |

The Bucks were not going to be nor could they be players in the 2010 free agent batch. They have too many guys expiring after 2011 so they might be players for people who aren't performing for their new teams after next season. |
