When the Bulls host the Cavaliers tomorrow night at United Center, they could get Derrick Rose back from a sprained wrist. There's also a chance that Joakim Noah could be back in action Saturday when the Bulls head to Philadelphia to rematch the 76ers after missing the last 3 weeks or so with plantar fasciitis. However, the frontcourt could be a totally different story.

Before last night's latest loss in Dallas, Luol Deng experienced a setback in pregame warmups as Luol walked with a noticeable limp in his right calf strain and may still be in street clothes for this weekend's back-to-back games, if not longer. Luol's teammate in the frontcourt, rookie Taj Gibson, may have scored 12 points & 4 rebounds last night in the Bulls' 113-106 loss to the Mavericks, but could be the latest injury concern for the team's M*A*S*H unit. Like Noah, Gibson has his own issue with plantar fasciitis. While Taj has been playing through the pain, yesterday's Chicago Tribune reported that his own foot is starting to worsen and was listed last night as probable for the Mavs' game. Gibson said he'll undergo the same shock therapy Noah has undergone, but there's a chance that Taj might soon be shutdown himself. It's definitely a story to keep a close eye on. Two steps forward and maybe two steps back...

Why not just shut down Noah too? It just doesn't make any sense...

I've said this to David Schuster, Jason Goff & Connor McKnight, who have all written blogs on the subject at 670thescore.com when Joakim Noah was shutdown for 3 weeks. If Joakim isn't fully healthy and effective, he should NOT be playing. Regardless of all the injuries, the Bulls' defense has been invisible lately. They've allowed 100 or more points in 12 straight games.

As for Taj, he's not getting as many rebounds as he had been getting before it was revealed last night that his own plantar fasciitis is worsening. It's a situation that bears watching moving forward.
