Is he good? I remember when he was drafted it was an absolute shitstorm on the board. Has he ended up being decent?

I was leading the charge. I thought he would suck and be out of the league in a few year. For about a year I was right. Another great draft pick by Paxson.

My birthday almost always falls on the day of the NBA draft. Being a male above the age of 11, I don't care about my birthday. My wife however, being the wonderful person she is, does care about my birthday. I suggested we go to Gino's East, and asked the draft be put on. My wife, who has zero knowledge of the NBA, had to hear my bitching about how they were going to draft this clown shoes named Noah. When he was actually drafted, I let out a very loud "UGH." Everyone in the restaurant turned around, and my wife said "You told me you knew they were going to draft him, why were you so upset?" I disliked him so much, I still had that reaction.

Noah has done everything I thought he had no ability to do. He has matured, gained good weight, and transitioned from a good college player to a good NBA player. I talk up when I'm right about sports, and I will talk about when I'm dead wrong. Noah has been a great surprise, and I was very wrong.

There were some bad comments here about Gibson on draft day. Not sure if this has been posted, but he made the first rookie team. Not bad.

noah has completely changed since coming into the league. he knows and follows the rules now, he gives more effort then is possible every single night every single 48, and he has put so much time in the weightroom it almost makes you think 'steroids'. the only thing he has kept from his college days is that 'i fukk all yall' attitude, which is key. old stormin norm would shed tears of joy over joakim... he would have him as sole team captain. if banks opened on sundays, it would be just for joakim. if trees turned their leaves to let sunshine pass by, it would be to shed upon joakim. if women from rockford couldn't be confused with saturated fat rakkons, it would be because of joakim. the lord first made himself, then he made joakim, then they both made earth and everything that spins around it. end of everything. joakim noah.

Noah was a clown when he got here but he really seems to "get it" now. His first 1 and a half seasons in the league were wasted, but then someone flipped the switch and he completely changed. It's a shame Tyrus Thomas never had that moment in his career.

I actually liked Noah, especially when he ripped the team the first week of his rookie season for being spineless chumps. Ideally you don't fight with assistant coaches, but I guess if Vinnie and Pax can do it, maybe it's accepted in the Bulls lockerroom. It's not like there was anyone they passed on I thought would be that great, but I certainly never thought he'd be as good as he was this year. Do it again and I'll be really impressed.

I think he got a bad rap his rookie season. I thought he'd be this good sooner, but I was pretty sure he was going to be a good player. I think his rookie year was a culture shock in every way. Going from winning every game you play to playing for a terrible HC, terrible management, in the 3rd biggest city in the country. He didnt handle it well, but he was never close to leaving the league like Hova implied.

that was the moment i realized that he actually might be good. he saw what we saw, a bunch of millionaires acting like a whole season is ahead. and he felt how we felt, he hated it. it was obvious from that point on that you knew joakim was going to give 48 minutes of intensity every night... the only question was how much ability did god give him. not a question anymore obviously.

The thing about Gibson is in a championship contending team, he's a 7th or 8th man, not starting. He was productive this year but ideally, he's going to the bench next year. Same for James Johnson - showed signs of development towards the end of the season and would like nice coming off the bench as an energy guy but should not see the starting lineup.

He showed some flashes in a few games. maybe I pieced together several games into one long memory.

From what I saw Gibson is good enough to start on some championship teams. He can knock down the 15 foot shot and rebound.

gibson was all nba rookie first team. no doubt about it. johnson showed signs of being decent towards the end of the season but still nothing to write home about

Gibson to me has the bigger upside. He has more of rounded game. Noah has suprised me too and every team needs a scrapper. I just dont know if Noah and Gibson with Rose are enough to bring a top rated free agent.
