All the big name free agents resign with their old teams? These guys can make every GM who cleared space to bid for them look like fools. Bulls not getting James, Bosh, Wade, Boozer, David Lee or Johnson. And love the media guys with their "inside sources". Every hour stories were changing. What the heck did Terry's "guy" say? Just a bunch of blow hard trying to make themselves look like their the GUY. |

Then the Bulls would be a very bad basketball team next year. |

There will be a trade market that opens and the Bulls will have to rebuild in a different fashion. Their cap space would allow them to take on some over-priced contracts in a trade. Bulls would still have a good core: PG: Rose SG: TBD SF: Deng PF: TBD C: Noah I think they would make a run (trade-wise) for Al Jefferson and sign a Mike Miller shooter type. PG: Rose SG: Miller or another type of pure shooter SF: Deng PF: Noah C: Jefferson Pretty solid starting 5 - and one that contend in the East, assuming all FAs are staying place and there is no "super team" being built in the East. |

In all honesty, it would have been the biggest sham that any team/player ever pulled off. In essence, LBJ et al. would have just destroyed two teams in the East. |

Exactly. If the Bulls have the same core they currently have, and don't add any max/superstar contracts they are still a playoff team in the east. If they would have had anybody who could consistently knock down a jumper last season they probably would have been 4th or 5th seed. The scenario that Mel gives above is easily a 3rd or 4th seed in the east if none of the other superstars move around. Boston is going to take a big drop next season, and Atlanta could also fall out of the top 4 eastern teams. |

I don't like that school of thought because of the issues with the CBA expiring .... the rules could completely change for next offseason. And if all the Premier FAs stay put this year - and I would assume that is because they can earn more money with their current team - then why would Durant and Melo move? |

Bulls talking to Wade today. Just off the wall question here. But if we signed Wade, please no name calling, would anyone here be against trading Rose in a sign and trade? Say for Bosh if they'd take Deng as part of the deal. Then Wade, Bosh and maybe James could sign with the Bulls. No better or worse than the stuff then the "experts" been throwing out there. |

joakim noah is the one who everyone wants. they all know rose is not going anywhere, no matter what. imo, noah is also staying for sure because he is that guy that nobody liked but paxson, and is by far paxson's greatest draft pick ever. noah makes pax look like a genius, it would be stupid for him to give away that guy. |

Didn't Berns say he take Noah over Bosh? Anyway here is the free agents for 2012. And if Melo signs with Denver the pickings stink. http://www.realgm.com/src_freeagents/ |

Boozer to meet with the Bulls tomorrow, according to ESPN.com. I really hope they don't sign him. |

Just a bunch of blow hard trying to make themselves look like their the GUY. If all of these guys stay with their own teams, organizations like New York, Chicago, and Miami are going to be scrambling to fill out their rosters, and, obviously, this is a gamble that failed. As for the media, it's been completely ridiculous with all of the rumors. I was looking forward to this off-season, but the conflicting, and often times, just made-up and false reports are way out of the hand. Things have calmed down some now that those reporting have a better grasp of who/when the free agents are meeting with the teams. Of course, there was conflicting information about Chris Bosh yesterday, but it's hard to take any of these reporters very seriously anymore. |

Al Jefferson was coming off an injury last season so I'm not sure why the league is so down on him. Sure he's had off the court problems but he is still a all star caliber NBA player. |

Post subject: | Re: What If..... |
I'd be very happy with Jefferson, but I think people are down on the $45MM left on his deal the next three years. But that will change quickly once the FAs make their pick and there are teams left with cap space. Here's where I'm thinking now. I'd like to S&T Boozer from the Jazz for Deng and some sweeteners (maybe the Bobcats pick next year) - it gives you Boozer plus gives you room for LBJ plus a dead-eye SG. And please stop the JJ Reddick talk. Maybe Raja Bell - has he signed yet? I think my guy Mike Miller has signed already or is close to it. |

I like Miller, but he is going to get way too much $$$. The Bulls have no shot at him unless things really fall apart with the big names. |
