If that deal happens: 1. M-Jeff probably doesn't return for 1997-1998 season. 2. Bulls don't win 6th title. 3. Bulls endure an extra year of Tim Floyd era. What was Krause's obsession with blowing up one of the best dynasty's ever? |

Was that message a precursor to something that may happen? |

Even if MJeff came back no way they win that last title without Pippen and instead a rookie T-Mac....god I hope this guy goes to the Clips. How much cap room do the Bulls have left at this point anyways. |

Best move MJ has made. He would have the same amount of rings as Magic if they trade happens. Of course the Bulls would not have been bad for a long period of time with T-Mac. |

the problem is the worst with the nba because they are all close friends. theyre just sharing titles now it seems like. the jordan era was like the bears 85 era where if you knocked a opponent to the ground, you sure as hell dont help him up |

And in the Civil War they used to line up elbow to elbow and just shoot at people while walking directly forward. |

I still cannot fathom that Krause actually might of considered making this deal. Trading Pip then would have guaranteed not winning the 2nd three peat. I already fault him for breaking this team up, and think they probably could have won a title the following year during the lockout shortened season if Fat Ass Jerry wasn't such a pud. Could you imagine that team if Jordan, Pippen, and Phil were all gone, but Rodman was still around for that year with Tim Floyd as the coach? There would have been some hilarious shit going down... |

I think his stint in NY last year showed he doesn't have much game left. |

Hell, they were already on their last legs when they beat the Jazz in '98. I don't know man. They only would of played half a season, and there was some real bad basketball going on that year. Guys came back from the lockout incredibly out of shape. I think they could have coasted to the finals, and anything could have happened at that point. |

DB MJ would have missed the entire season. The championship run was over |

You can't count on Matt Barnes either. But is the ceiling higher on MCGrady than it is for Barnes? Yes. And they come at around the same price. The Bulls don't need to count on T-Mac, but would he accept a lesser role the way a guy like Matt Barnes would? Would McGrady be happy possibly coming off the bench, and playing 15-20 minutes a game? Granted, he may have no choice given his options, but is that a potential headache the team would rather avoid? |

I dont see him as anything else but a 6th man, but he would at least be considered to start over Brewer. |

But 3 out of the 4 teams he is interested in going to would be using him in a reserve role, about 15 minutes a game barring injuries and performance. I think he understands, and would accept, the role...he would have the best chance to win he has ever had in his career. Also, his ties to Chicago are strong...I think it would work. And if it doesn't? It cost you next to nothing...and you only missed out on Matt Barnes. Matt fucking Barnes. Barnes actually plays defense and doesn't need to have the ball in his hands as much as T-Mac does. Once a prolific scorer enters the downside of his career he can turn into a spot shooter like Ray Allen or Reggie Miller which McGrady never was or he can keep his game the same and keep trying to do things he is no longer capable of like Iverson. Add into the fact that McGrady is a dog with no heart and I don't care how little the investment is it is just not worth it for the Bulls. Oh and Matt Barnes has been out of the first round of the fucking playoffs. |

Im sorry to say this but, Matt Barnes > T-Mac If the Bulls wanted bad defense, chucking, and overall lazy play, they could have just re-signed Flip Murray. At least he can stay healthy. |

I guess Krause was looking at life after MJ. He tried to trade a 32 year old player for a 19 year old that would become a multiple time all star. Im not saying he should have done it, but its not THAT crazy IMO |

This is the same guy who traded a 1st year 20/10 PF for a 19 High School kid. |

And Will Perdue for Rodman. |

JBills wrote: And Will Perdue for Rodman. You can't really chalk that one up in the "Jerry Krause is a genius" category. Rodman was a guy that ran himself out of town in San Antonio and the Spurs would have taken a bag of balls to get rid of him. The Bulls were probably the only place that could contain his antics because of having Michael and Phil. |

Still Will Perdue for Rodman. The theory Chicago is the only place that could contain him is debatable at best. Seeing as how he was drunk the entire finals series against Utah in '98. |
