Not sure if this was touched on in the Pippen appreciation thread but this is an article in today's Sun Times.... Glad to see Pippen getting some love from the Bulls. Fans will love taking photos with Pip. Pippen to get statue inside UC Hall of Famer to join Jordan with honor Scottie Pippen's going to be a permanent fixture at the United Center. The Chicago Bulls said Wednesday that a bronze statue of the Hall of Famer would be displayed permanently inside the arena by the end of the upcoming season. The statue will be created by Julie Rotblatt Amrany, part of the husband-and-wife team that created the statue of basketball all-time great Michael Jordan. Jordan's statue has stood outside the United Center since 1994. Pippen will meet with Rotblatt Amrany and her husband, Omri Amrany, at their Highland Parkwood art studio next week to pose for the photos on which the piece will be based, she said. The Pippen statue, which will be unveiled in March, will be life-sized and "a more intimate piece" than the Jordan structure, and likely at eye level of visitors, Rotblatt Amrany said. It will cost less than $100,000, she said. Her company signed the work contract with the Bulls last week after the team approached them within the last month. Pippen -- a six-time NBA champion with Jordan in the 1990s -- was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this month. In July, the Bulls named the two-time Olympic gold medalist an ambassador. His No. 33 was retired Dec. 9, 2005. |

To make a true likeness of Pippen, they need to break the mold before they pour it. Then hit it numerous time with an ugly stick. |
