Do you look into it?

So he can take all the shots that Rose could possibly take? Might as well kept Gordon.

I agree. Gordon also has the more consistent shot. Crawford is just a bad player

I would rather have Joey Crawford on my bench.

Last year he averaged 18 PPG on 45% shooting (38% from 3PT) and shot 85% from the line

This in about 30 MPG

Didn't turn it over a lot or foul a whole lot

Please explain to me how that makes him a bad player?

He's instant offense. That's his niche. I'm not claiming he's a great defender or makes Jason Kidd-esque no-look passes. He's a scorer. And he does that well and can still do it well.

That's my defense of him as a player....staying in the context of the thread I don't think he would be a good fit on this team at all. I'm also not sure that he's worth 10 million+ , which it seems like is his asking price (at least) for an extension.

He's a taller and slightly less clutch version of Ben Gordon. I just see him being a black hole that Rose will defer to too often for my liking.

I agree. I don't think he would be a good fit on the Bulls. On the Hawks, I think he is a good fit. He gives them a solid scorer when Johnson is on the bench.

Couldn't he give the Bulls a solid scorer when Rose is on the bench?

He's not coming to the Bulls.

That being said, last year was as close to his full potential as he's gotten since joining the league.

I know he wasn't a "team" guy,but who gives a shit? He can SCORE which might be an issue this year.

That's been an issue for the last 12 years of this franchise. However this season seems to have the best outlook since the Jordan-era when it comes to scoring.

Of course he could. It's more a matter of what would it take to get him via trade and would his salary (and extension he obviously wants) be worth it. I don't think it would.

The Hawks are in a slightly different situation; they really have no one who can handle the ball aside from Bibby. So on the second unit and when Bibby is on the bench he is a good option. The Bulls have Watson and even Brewer can handle the ball OK. Yeah he would be an upgrade over either as far as scoring is concerned but again, you have to consider value. I'm just guessing here but if you're going to spend 10 million plus on a 6th man, I think you could do better.

edit: plus, Bibby due to age and poor defense doesn't play as much anymore so it's almost like a platoon...you notice even though Crawford was ATL's "6th man" he was playing 30 mpg...that's a lot for a 6th man. Meanwhile Rose plays the majority of the game so there isn't as much of a need for that.

Crawford is a loser. He was a loser when we drafted him, he's a loser now. The Bulls do not need an ego to chuck up bricks.

Edit: Just looked it up, last year was the first time the Crawford was on a team with more than 33 wins. What a difference maker! The season after we got rid of him last time we went 47-35.

I think Crawford and his game have matured alot since his time here in Chicago. He's not the chucker with no conscience that he was here - and he's really improved his shot.

If the Bulls hadn't made the move on CJ Watson as the combo guard, backing up both Brewer and Rose, then Crawford would be a great fit. As it is, I'm not sure Ronnie Brewer is much more than a second guard off the bench. I like how he defends, but ...

What is that supposed to mean? Anyone who would actually want Crawford on their actual team (not fantasy team) is a lunatic. You don't build teams with selfish players and stat guys. You build losers. As shown by the great records of teams that Crawford played for.
