I haven't seen much on Wilcox as a viable offseason pickup, wonder why. Al Harrington's name pops up on every possible thread or article, even though he will be very costly and is not a natural PF, as the Bulls need.

Wilcox last year: 30mpg, 14.1ppg, 8.2rpg, 59.2fg%, 78.7ft% (turns 24 in September)
Harrington last yr:37mpg, 18.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 45.2fg%, 69.4ft% (26 yrs old)

Harrington is the superior all around player, but he will surely cost more and Wilcox is a real post player.

What do you all think?
Is there a better alternative via free agency?

I think they will be moving around in the draft and trading for a player but I have liked Wilcox since his Maryland days.

I have no objections to Wilcox as a player, but as a transaction, I don’t expect this to happen. For one thing, I think Seattle wants to keep him. Secondly, he is a restricted free agent. With the assets the Bulls have this offseason, cap space & two 1st rd picks, I’d rather not see them get involved in sign & trade deals. They would be overpaying to fill a need. Now, if they made an offer and Seattle chose not to match and thus let him go w/out compensation, that would be fine. But otherwise, my preference would be targeting unrestricted FA’s and putting my trust in Pax to make the right calls on their 2 picks.

Wilcox is a solid player but he was terrible before he got traded to Seattle. I think all he needs is minutes on the floor because he wasn't playing when he was on the Clippers.

How was he terrible ? He played behind Elton Brand, who prior to this season was a consistent 20-10 every night. Now he's a 25 and 12. There's no way Wilcox is going to be anything but a backup with Brand as a roadblock.

Wilcox is a perfect fit in the Western Confernece Phoenix/Seattle style of play. He plays above the rim, and I compare him to a Shawn Marion (of course, not nearly the player, but an athletic freak).
