While the Boozer injury doesn't help matters, I still have the Bulls as the second best team in the east. Their record will be somewhere around 55 or 56 wins. They will lose the Eastern Conference Finals in 6 games. And Noah is a beast...

Edit: I was trying to quote myself...

The first 6 weeks of the season have a pretty tough schedule, and it is going to be even tougher without having Boozer available. When he finally gets back, there will probably be a short period of time that the guys trying to figure out how to play together. Boozer has only practiced with the team for about 1 week. Hopefully they are keeping him active so he doesn't come back out of shape.

I predict this will be a 45-50 win team. They will win their division and get the 3rd playoff spot in the east. I don't see this team making it past the Eastern Conference Finals, but I would love to be surprised.

Omer Asik wins the ROY

46-36 and I don't think they make the Eastern Conference Finals this year.
Should be a roller coaster of a season and there will be growing pains and
take time for the team to gel. They'll have some trouble early on but after
the All-Star break, I think we are going to see a team to be excited about.

:o That would be nice - but I do have to admit that I'm a bit more optimistic about the team's chances after seeing how well he's done so far (albeit in the preseason). I was gettin' a bit itchy after Boozer's, uh, incident, but I think that it's somewhat realistic to expect about 52 wins, and I like our chances in the playoffs if everyone stays healthy and the team really gels...

I have not watched any preseason games so far, has Asik really looked decent, or was that being sarcastic?

Very sarcastic.

He is Viktor Khryapa incarnate.

I saw him in the 4th quarter against the Wizards look awful. 2 '3 seconds' penalties...and he was getting pushed around quite a bit by the kid the Bulls drafted and packaged with Hinrich. He does definitely rebound quite well with his size...but has limited (no) offensive skills.

Okay, okay - I'm drinkin' the kool-aid already, but he does need some time to adjust. He had 9 points, 8 rebs, and 3 blocks last night - let me think big before he gets thrown around and embarrased during the regular season :eye:

I am hoping Boozer will return around Thanksgiving, which should mean that the Bulls will win about 50 games.

Life goes on. Hova would want this...

I say the Bulls get about 48-52 wins this year. They might have a tough time in the early going but I think they'll still do well during Boozer's absence. Deng is gonna have to dig deep and finally play to his potential in order for this team to be a serious player come postseason time. He can really be the X factor if he finds his confidence. IMO he remains the biggest question mark on the team. He is too damned skilled to be a question mark. Hope Coach Tibbs can help the man out

I think this will be the year Rose puts himself into the top tier of NBA superstars. He's gonna have to carry the load while Carlos is out and he seems more than ready to do so.

There was a report in the offseason that said Rose had developed a 3 pt shot. Has this been seen in the preseason games?

He's shooting 1-8 for three during the preseason.

So, yes.

I can't wait till Boozer and Noah are out there at the same time. That will be something. I'm not sure about Deng. He pretty much just looks like the same old Deng so far in the preseason.
I'd lille to think he'll be better with less pressure on him...

Even with Carlos Boozer sidelined, the Bulls should win around 54 games and easily win the watered-down NBA Central Division now that Benedict LeBron is with the Miami Heat...

Nobody is willing to cross that 55 line but me, eh? I'm keeping track so I can make sure to kick certain people off the bandwagon later on...

Even if Boozer was healthy all season this team wouldn't win 55 games.

I said 45-50 wins in my earlier post, but i'll make it official with 47-35.

I'm thinking 45 wins. The November road trip will still get them, especially with Boozer still out. Even the Jordan Bulls had difficulty on the circus trip sometimes.

45-37
losing Boozer means a slow start
out in 2nd Round
Rose improves but does not become an elite player - yet
