As I have not watched any preseason Bulls basketball I have a question. I thought I heard somebody this morning on M&H say that Deng has developed a 3-point shot and was hitting it on a consistent basis in the preseason. Is this correct?

I would consider this a significant development to the Bulls prospects.

Deng shot 51% from 3 during the preseason. If he can knock it down consistently, it's definitely a good thing. But I would rather see him getting to the basket and to the foul line more. The Bulls have a pretty good collection of 3 point shooters now after they were one of the worst teams at 3's last season.

I think that will help him get to the basket since guys won't be laying off him defensively to let him take his 23 foot 8 inch jumpers that make me want to shoot out my TV screen with a revolver.

He did show a willingness to drive and cut to the basket a little bit more in the couple of preseason games I saw. Granted, one of them was against Toronto so I don't know what it really means.

I didn't catch alot of preseason action, but he has definitely looked better so far. As long as he isn't settling for the long jumper like he has the past two seasons, he should be improved.

The Bull have growing pains. Too turnovery, too few rebounds and limited inside scoring. It's gonna look like Skiles first FULL season. Really slow start, then around December 15th they look like a legit 4th seed in the playoffs.

I think OKC is on the rise and about to become a top 3 team in the West. The Bulls might have some trouble with this one especially without Boozer

One quarter down. Rose on the bench with 2 quick fouls and they look lost without him.

Derrick Rose was a turnover machine at the end of this game. It's called a "pull up jumper", work on it.

The offense looked ugly at the end. Well more precisely, it looked like there wasn't an offense.

The Bulls seem to be continuing their 5+ year trend of either setting terrible picks, or setting a pick that results in nobody being open.

sloppy start to both sides, but the ball was fallin so there was a lot of scoring. rose had 20 at the half and showed some real signs of studliness tonight. bulls completely shit their pants at the end, even though i thought much of the game they controlled. oh well. durant looked human. noah looks very tanny and even bigger then last year. korver made a critical stupid travel (shoot shooter, why are you trying to drive?). taj gibson is continuing his maturity, he looked pretty good! i think ronnie brewer was out there but they all looked like little smudges of brown on the tv i was watching. lots of new players on the bulls, we really do have a completely different team this year.

all in all, i think this game is a lock if he had boozer in there. defense was bad, and while the structure of the offense looked offensive, its clear we have some decent offfensive talent.... so well see. this is going to be a fun year for sure.

Yo just make sure you don't leave your shoes in front of the door again, I almost killed myself coming in the other night and you were all potted out asleep in the basement.

goof said just about everything i thought. notably about the tibedow drawn up plays. you saw passes being thrown and guys getting the ball in open space in ways we havent seen since the scott skiles days.

i didnt know that korver play was a 24sec violation at the end there. there was no sound, it looked like he traveled. a 24 foul is even worse, what a stupid play that led to the bulls freefall. i knew it right at that moment the bulls were in trouble. stupid korver. dick

Nice to see the famous Bulls "play no defense and turn the ball over in the 4th quarter" play.

A few things I took away from last night's game:

1. This game should have been a blowout for the Thunder. They went to the line 47 TIMES. That is completely ridiculous. The Bulls hung in there with a great game from Noah.

2. This game was extremely close until about 3 minutes left in the game. At that point the Bulls offense just seemed to stall. The 24 second violation (on a designed play out of a timeout) by Korver was inexcusable. The two posessions where the Bulls looked for Taj Gibson to bail them out were also terrible decisions. He travelled on one and then missed about a 20 footer on the other. You don't want Taj putting the ball on the floor or taking long jumpers in either of those situations. Rose really needed to assert himself more in the end, but the Thunder played tough D all night.

3. Luol Deng did his vanishing act again in the 4th quarter.

4. One of the other good things you can take away from this game other than Noah's 18&19, was the play of the Bulls supporting cast when Rose was on the bench with foul trouble. Everyone played great in the thrid quarter, it's just a shame they couldn't sustain it till the end.

I didn't get to see the game. What are people's thoughts on Thibs first game coaching the team?

I cannot watch Deng anymore. This guy is going to spoil basketball again for me this year.

the bulls have been trying to get rid of deng since the year after he signed his contract. they thought he was going to blow up into a big time player, but instead he continued to be ineffective in a lot of areas. everyone says its a good thing that ben gordon didnt take the money, but i honestly believe he would have been a hell of a lot more valuable then deng turned out to be.

At least Gordon had some balls with taking big shots at the end of games. Deng is a 1st and 3rd quarter player then dissapears for long stretches and when you combine that with his fear of contact it does not make for a good combination. He is an OK NBA player but is still way too soft for my liking. I think you will see more Ronnie Brewer down the stretch of games when Thibs wants someone who is interesting in playing defense. The only problem with that is Brewer makes Thabo look like Dr. J. on the offensive side of the ball.

gordon was a deadly shooter, even if it was only every other night. he is the absolute perfect 6th man, all he has to do is accept that fucking role. its great he wanted to be a top dog and all, but just compare him to derrik rose. its a joke and even ben himself should be able to see that. could you imagine if he did 'get it' and we had him back to come in key stretches along side rose?

on any given night we would most likely have either korver or gordon hot enough to come in the 2nd half of games and scoop up passes that rose kicks out from drives. with boozer and noah down low, it would leave most teams out of options. that starting 5 would put plenty of pressure on our big guys on the defensive end (which is why gordon wouldnt start), but the scoring would be nearly guaranteed when needed.

i know he sucks now in detroit... i just really think the change was a lot different then he thought it would be. chicago fans would love to see him back, i cant image he wouldnt at least play as good as he used to here (likely way better since he would have a more defined role).
