Since the rules of this thread are having to use the #2 pick, I think I might go with Roy as well. I was sold on the thought of having to get that big guy in this draft, but there isn't one out there that can help the Bulls now and none I am sold on. Tyrus Thomas had himself a nice tournament in March, but to me, he is still too much of a project for a Bulls team that doesn't need anymore of those anymore. Lamarcus Aldridge would probably be the better guy between the two, but I feel like Aldridge is going to be one of those guys that struggles mightily to score when faced with the big boys of the NBA. I realize LSU was awesome last year, but Aldridge showed virtually nothing to get excited about in that game (I think he had 4 points). I don't know if the Bulls can get to the next level without size from the 2 position and as Nas stated earlier, thats exactly what Roy is going to give them. I don't need to say anything else, because Nas pretty much summed up why Roy may be the right choice. |

I still want Aldridge. He's a legit 7 footer and I think he's gonna be a beast. |

Ronnie Brewer. If there was some way to ensure that he falls to 16 then you could take Aldridge with 2. That would be a fantastic draft. |

Agreed! If they could pull that off that would be sweet. Wishful thinking though, I fear. |

You know what you guys have convinced me. I wan Roy too. Plus don't you guys think its easier to find a decent 6 10 power forward then it is a decent 6 6 shooting gurard. Now if Aldridge is a star that's another story. But I'll go with you guys. Take Roy. Do you guys think Roy has star potential or will he be just decent. |

I would not be upset if Pax ended up taking Roy. That said, it would be a very conservative, Jerry Angelo-like pick. There are several guys in this draft with bigger upside than Roy. If he goes #2, it means the Bulls either had serious concerns about the others in the top-5 or they were simply afraid to fail. In the end, perhaps a little bit of both. I have been on the LaMarcus Aldridge bandwagon ever since it became obvious the Knicks were going high in the lottery. I’m sticking with my original choice. On a side note regarding Brewer menioned above, I think the Bulls have a decent shot of landing him with a little bit of tweaking. There is probably a 90% chance he will be gone at 16. However, the chances of him being gone by 13 are probably more like 50%. Philadelphia holds the 13th selection and may be a perfect trading partner for the Bulls. There is a strong possibility that they will be looking at the PG position with their 1st rd pick this year. The teams picking at 14 & 15, Utah & New Orleans, just used top-5 picks on PG’s last season (Deron Williams & Chris Paul) and are obviously no threat to draft one this year. Assuming they are going after a PG, Philly has nothing to lose by moving down 3 slots. In fact, they would get their guy at a slightly reduced salary, along with what would likely be an early 2nd rd pick in the ’07 draft (courtesy of our guy Isiah) as compensation for moving down. On the other end, Utah & New Orleans at 14 & 15, will most definitely be looking for help in the GF department. If Brewer falls to 14, Utah would certainly be interested. New Orleans would likely have a similar attitude. |

Bargnani! Would work great with this offense, a pick and roll that would actually be a threat (last year everyone knew the guards would jack up shots, and they still did nicely for themselves). Though rare, there's a chance he could be Dirk. If not, probably like a Radmonovic, which I think is a nice addition to the team. A big guard can also be taken at 16, Pax probably won't take Bargnani, but if you checkout draftexpress.com , Thabo Sefolosho. Though in reality, I think the pick will be involved in a trade. I think Roy is a smokescreen |
