Taj Gibson misses practice

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson sat out practice on Monday because of a concussion he suffered in the third quarter of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Gibson is listed as doubtful for Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers at the United Center.

The Bulls already are short-handed with center Joakim Noah recovering from surgery on his right hand.

I vote Scalabrine. He will bring it.

Did you see that steal he had on Saturday? No other NBA player could have done that. That is what "it" is.

You mean the one where one of his teammates knocked the ball away from the Clipper player and Scalabrine tripped over his shoe laces and fell on the ball. That was pretty sweet.

Kurt Thomas replaces Taj Gibson

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson will miss Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers after suffering a concussion Saturday, and Kurt Thomas will replace him in the starting lineup.

Gibson sat out practice Monday after banging his head on the court in the third quarter of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

"He won't go tonight," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. "He's feeling better, but he's not quite ready yet.

"He was able to do some light exercise, so I think he'll be fine after today."

Thibodeau said Gibson will be reevaluated at the game Tuesday and is expected to travel with the team to Washington. He is hopeful that the second-year forward will be able to play Wednesday night against the Wizards.

The Bulls were already short-handed as center Joakim Noah is sidelined after undergoing surgery on his right hand.

This will be the first start of the season for the seldom-used Thomas, who started nine games for the Milwaukee Bucks last season.

This will only make Scalabrine more grindy when he jumps off the bench.

Old Man Buckets makes a triumphant return to the starting lineup. Who fouls out first, Asik or Thomas?

I'm not sure...They've got a big man named Omar Asik, but the problem with him is that he and the other Bulls' big men on the roster were plagued by foul trouble Saturday night vs. VDN's new team the L.A. Clippers in that heartbreaking loss.

The SCORE's David Schuster said after the heartbreaking loss Saturday to the Clippers, that Taj was still shaken up and didn't quite remember how he sustained a concussion after playing less than 10 minutes starting for Joakim Noah at center.

now wait a minute. if a nfl player has to sit out a minimum of 3 weeks and up to a year before playing after a concussion, that means taj is out for almost a month. unless the rules are different. like a nba concussion is not the same as an nfl concussion. not that i want taj to be out im just sayin. eye for an eye right?

It's great to see the Bulls are kicking tail this evening. At the moment both have 4 fouls. I will take that if they can play like they have tonight AND we get Gibson back soon.
