Walt, let me preface this by saying I like you as a poster and I think you're one of the funny old-timers of the board (we need those). But...
Why don't you ever bring any of your own analysis to the conversation? It seems as though your sole purpose is to sit back and wait for other people to be wrong about something and then say, "See? He was wrong about that!
" But afterwards, you never follow up with what
you think about the situation. You're the king of hindsight observation.
Take this thread for example. I'm aware that you believe Bernstein was wrong about Hansbrough, but what is your thought on him? What do you like about his game? How good a player do you think he can be?
I know you have some sports thoughts of your own. Just share em.
Here you go. The NBA is a league of a few superstars and the rest are interchangeable 2nd tier players, and a handful that should be on an off ramp with a squegee. We all know the superstars, but what seperates the 2nd tier players? Nothing, its how they play together as a unit. Didn't the Greek National team beat the US team , because they played team ball, because they surely didn't have even any talent to match up with the US superstars. So as a certain few who mock players really don't know the game. Hansbourgh moves well without the ball good , passer and takes the ball strong to the hoop, so his game is so so,but so are many other players in this league. So when I hear things like white basketball...bad, I just think to myself who ignorant can they be. I would take a team of Nash, Dirk, Ginobli,Gasol, Loev, Bogat etc and would make the playoffs constantly who they play as a unit would decide on how far they go.
