Without looking it up, who were the only 2 NBA players to lose to the Bulls in the Finals on two different teams?

The Utah Jazz did it 2 times, so anyone on their team for those 2 years.

Correct. Perkins played for the Lakers and Sonics; Ainge played on Portland and Phoenix.

You can argue that the 92-93 Suns were a better team. For all intents and purposes, they should've won that series. That was a pretty stacked team. Remember, Cedric Ceballos didn't play in that series and he was their second-leading scorer behind Barkley. Had he been available, I doubt the Bulls would've won.

Actually, you COULD make the argument that the Knicks were a better team that year as well. I remember having the Suns and the Knicks in the Finals at the time.

Come on Kid. No way the Knicks were a better team, maybe (MAYBE) the Suns.

Pippen would have handled Ceballos. Either way the Bulls would have won that series.

Buzz Peterson is the correct answer to both items.

Nah, I gotta disagree there.

The Bulls won the first two games at Phoenix but arguably didn't play well for the rest of the series, particularly for the three games in Chicago. They were sluggish and the Suns bigs were beating up Grant, Cartwright, and Scott Williams pretty badly.

Then you had Richard Dumas, who was the wildcard in the whole thing. He played the best basketball of his career that season, and particularly in those playoffs. Pippen had his hands full enough with Dumas. Add in the fact that they kept having to put Pippen on Barkley because Grant stayed in foul trouble. This led to Phoenix pounding the middle, which led to some ridiculously open shots for K.J., Majerle, and Ainge.

Jordan did a pretty good job defensively on Majerle, but if you add Ceballos to that mix, Pippen would've had to expend all of his energy guarding him, leaving Dumas free to roam, and leaving Majerle free to shoot. And remember, the Bulls' only backup SF that year was Trent Tucker....no thank you. Throw in Tom Chambers off the bench who was playing three positions (SF, PF, and C), the Suns with Ceballos would've proven to be too much of a matchup problem for the Bulls. In my opinion, that '93 team was weakest of all 6 Bulls championship squads.

I'd consider the '93 Suns one of the greatest NBA teams to win nothing.

The Suns were the closest in talent to the Bulls but they were still not as good

Jordan, Pippen, Grant > Barkely, Ceballos, KJ

Post subject:  Re: Bulls Trivia

Come on now. The Bulls went into Phoenix and won all three games played there. Their big three were way better than The Sun's bg three. Sure they may have been deeper but the play offs arent about depth for the most part. Most teams go maybe 7 or 8 max especially in the finals. And Phoenix's first win was I think a double overtime game in Game 3. Was at Sox game that against the A's. They win game 3, they sweep and there's no arguement. Game five was won pretty easily by the Suns.

The Bulls defense was so under appreciated. They played great one on one but also great team defense. That was the biggest factor and why the Bulls would have won that series even if Pax misses the 3.

What was the original name of the Chicago Bulls? (Or, perhaps more accurate: name the two professional teams that were in Chicago prior to the Bulls).
