Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson.

He sucks. Best move of the year by the Bulls.

Carmelo reminds me of Obama. If only the American people had the good sense of a John Paxson; we'd all be a lot better off today.

You do realize that GarPax was hot and heavy in the Melo sweepstakes right?

But then again, you'll just want a do-over and try yet another tepid President joke....

Nicely played. I'd have taken Dave Winfield

If only America had been as lucky as GarPax...

There was nothing tepid about that joke. It was hot as hell.

I'm curious if anyone here felt that way about Anthony three months ago. I know bernstein called people who thought you shouldn't trade Noah for him "basketball retarded" (obviously that means Terry felt the same way) and Jason Goff was even more condescending and insistent about what a premium player Carmelo was. Again, I know people are allowed to change their minds, but when you fancy yourself as a basketball expert and you're wrong so much, when do you cease to be an expert?

I know. You were the lone voice of reason in an unruly mob clamoring for Carmelo.
Bravo.

I'd still take him.

We're currently seeing the dramatic difference between playing for a real coach (Karl) and playing for a coach-impersonator (D'Antoni).

As great a year as he's having, I'd still give up Deng.

Yeah, I'm not in the IMU camp thinking that Deng is a better player than Carmelo. But I might suggest that Deng is a better fit on this team. I can't really see them being better even if they could somehow make that switch straight up. I'm not sure this team would be better had they been able to sign LeBron. It would be different, but I don't know about better. I doubt Rose would be where he is now.

You do have a point there. There's something to be said about team chemistry, especially in basketball. You got Carmelo, who individually may be more talented than Deng but you're right, there's no guarantee that if you make that move you won't completely screw up what this team is.

I'd still make the move, I'd probably be wrong, but as a GM I wouldn't be able to live with knowing I passed on an available legit superstar.

i would have traded noah for melo, and would still do it today. i think thibs would get melo to play defense. i dont trust big men to stay healthy once they start to get hurt.

I'm guilty. I would have driven Noah to Denver myself. I was wrong.

He is a scorer. Not a superstar. Superstars play end to end and look interested. Mello takes plays off, doesnt like defense and looks like he doesnt give a shit most of the time. Deng and Noah are better players than Anthony. Both play hard and both play end to end. Anthony does neither. He only scores when he feels like it. If he's lucky he'll end up on a winner someday as a 6th man. He's Jamaal Crawford.

See COF, even Mr. Belvidere can admit he was wrong about Noah.
