With 4 straight losses to the Heat, it made it obvious that the Bulls need some help to win a championship. An upgrade at SG is a must, and Boozer did not live up to his big contract throughout the playoffs.
With that said, I wanted to know everyone's thoughts on who the Bulls need to bring in via free agency or trades so the Bulls can compete with the Heat for the next 6 + years?

Would anyone take Boozer off our hands btw :x ?

It's diffiult to have this conversation until we know what the new CBA will look like, and that can take awhile.

I agree with you that a SG upgrade is an obvious area of improvement.

Boozer will be tough to move with that contract, especially with the uncertainty of the new CBA. Chances are if they he is moved, you're taking back a similar contract in return. I'm not as down on Boozer as most - I knew he was a bad defensive player before coming here. Offensively, I have to believe that he was injured although he's somewhat of an injury-prone player so there's probably more to come in that regard.

Ultimately, I think they do need to add another high caliber offensive talent, somebody to complement Rose, but they will be limited by the new CBA.

I still can't believe Forman got a share of Exec of the Year. He nailed Thibs, but that Boozer signing was ill-conceived at the time and looks positively execrable now.

James Harden from OKC would look very good in Chicago.

If there is a lockout, and it seems like it's a guarantee that there will be one, the Bulls better hope that it is resolved before training camp, or games have to be cancelled. If it is resolved at the last minute, rosters will probably be very similar to what they had this season. Hopefully a situation like 1999 doesn't happen again.

I think the team is going to look identical to how it looked last season. They'll probably re-sign Kurt Thomas to another 1 year deal for his final season, and Scalabrine, Pargo, and Lucas III will be sent packing. Drafted rookies will take their places.

If there is a quck resolution on a new CBA (which I have big doubts about happening), then maybe they can make a major move. Otherwise, it ain't happening. Everyone on the roster (except Rose) should be available if the right trade proposal comes up. Hopefully Paxson doesn't fall in love with his guys like he did 5 years ago and refuses to pull the trigger on a major deal.

And they would trade him why?

They wouldn't. I'm just saying he would look nice.

Michael Jordan circa 1991 would look great in a Bulls uniform right now.

I'm thinking the Bulls next year should have a roster that composes of:

Dwight Howard
Blake Griffin
Kevin Durant
James Harden
Derrick Rose

1991 Michael Jordan can be the sixth man.

Sub in John Salmons for Durant and you have a deal.

Monta Ellis... he should be available now. Not a big SG, but one of the best scorers in the league. Should be available with West taking the helm at GS.

Monta Ellis is too much of scorer and will take away from Derrick Rose. And plus he's kind of small....you'd like your SG to be at the worse, 6'4''. That's why OJ Mayo would have been great.

Yes, God forbid we have too many scorers. We don't want him to take away any shots when Derrick Rose is on another 8-27 night.

Ellis has those nights too, and he's allergic to defense.
