With the regular season ending this week and Round 1 starting on Saturday, the Bulls will likely face Philly in the first round. Not a cakewalk by any means, but shouldn't be too much of an issue. That just means Boston will be next, presumably.

Miami will then play New York. As far as 7th-seeds go, New York could be pretty tough if Carmelo has the series of his life and Amare can average 15-8. I still don't see the Knicks beating the Heat, of course. Regardless, should be a fun series to watch.

What do Bulls fans want more?:

- NBA Championship
- Beat Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals

If it isn't the first option, you are a complete moron. No way around it...

 Considering that option 1 encompasses option 2 unless of course the Heat get upset which would be even better than the Bulls beating them.

Ugie, that's a Danny Mac-ish question you asked, and even I don't think he would be that crazy to ask.

Agreed. Although methinks a few B&B callers would be tempted to choose option 2.

Elsewhere, the OKC Thunder will likely see the Mavericks in the opening round. I fully anticipate Durant and Westbrook smearing their balls all over Dirk's forehead, but weirder things have happened. Does anyone know if Jasons Terry and Kidd are broken or not?

The Spurs will probably end up as the #1 seed and face Midvale School for the Gifted in the opening round. Tony Parker looks like some kind of amphibian most of the time, and Tim Duncan looks like he wants to eat said amphibian. If Parker survives, Spurs win in 4.

Panther has also chosen option 2 before.

The Knicks need Baron Davis to turn back the clock or get someone to bring Bibby back to life. I believe they have the advantage in the front court but they need to outplay the Heat at PG to win.

The Knicks and Sixers are tied right now. There's no guarantee that the Bulls play the Sixers yet.

You might even see some tanking by New York and Philly over these last couple games. I don't think either want to draw Miami in the first round.

I think the Knicks can beat Miami if Amare is okay with playing a different role.

True, and New York even has the tiebreaker. Although, Doug Collins has already indicated that he'll rest his veterans for the final two games of the season, basically conceding the No. 7 seed to New York (as long as the Knicks don't do the same).

So yes, at least one team will be tanking.

And Jeremy Lin doesn't try to come back.

If it is the Knicks and Heat in the first round, I will be a huge Knick fan for the first time in a long time.

Seeing the Heat get knocked off in the first round would bring me some Vancouver like happiness!

I don't like the idea of one thread dedicated to Bulls Playoffs talk.

I like individual threads dedicated to the various individual interesting little subtopics that comprise and catalogue the whole experience.

That said, unless Derrick meets up with Victor Conte and miraculously heals himself in less than a week, this could be a tough toll.

I will say it here, confidently: It is not out of the question that they could win it all without him. Seriously, if those '04 Pistons did it, they can - but it just wouldn't be as fulfilling if they went anywhere without DR.

How would that be better? Best case scenario is Bulls beat Philly, Boston, Miami, OKC to win the title.

Not playing the Heat means the Bulls route to a title is easier.

Well, it would be funny to see Lebron lose in the first round. It also would be an easier path for the Bulls.

I agree. But it we are just talking about what we want to see happen, beating the best teams on the way to a title is at the top.

So you'll be rooting for Miami to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals?

I wouldn't say I'd be rooting for them. I'd like to see a Miami/Bulls series but I wont be upset if it doesn't happen, and the Heat getting eliminated in any way would be great. I just hope it's by Chicago. . This all depends on if Rose is healthy and himself obviously. If he's not then it really doesn't matter.

You will have to dig them out of people's front yards first. But at least you might get some RALLY SQUIRREL stew for dinner.

Something to chew on. The last time there was a lockout, the Knicks were the #8 seed in the Eastern Conference and knocked off the top seed that year. That was the Heat in 1999, and believe it or not, New York ended up going to the NBA Finals only to lose to the Spurs in 5 games. Might history repeat itself again if New York as a #7 and Miami as a #2? It's very unlikely, but the way Carmelo Anthony's played lately, anything is possible.

I think the NBA wants a Knicks and Heat series too.

So do TNT, ESPN, ABC & ESPN Radio. I don't know, Nas, if ABC wants a Bulls/Spurs' NBA Final though. Right now, those are the 2 likely to have home court advantage as long as they last.
