Correct me if I'm wrong, but Deng is going to play in the Olympics and have surgery after which would mean he will probably miss a bunch of time next season. Shouldn't the Bulls be pissed about this? I'm saying this knowing full well that I think the Olympics are rather pointless. Especially if you are playing for a team that has a rather small chance of winning anything but on top of that the Bulls are paying him to play for them not for the UK. |

Trade him. He doesn't care about his team. |

Not sure. Probably against it. The way it was reported last night postgame was that "he is playing in the Olympics and then having surgery. He doesn't care about next season." Which I think is bullshit. |

They seemed a little conflicted blaming him for having pride in his country after coming up with that. Yeah, I know. They gave him and his family asylum to escape the civil war. He feels it necessary to represent his nation that saved him. I'm actually a bit surprised they didn't give him shit for it. BernSTINE shrieking something along the lines of "You're family is safe! No one died, the Olympics are stupid and you're wrist needs surgery! Why do you have pride for the UK, you weren't even born there!" |

They didn't like it, but it seemed to me they kind of understood it. To be honest, I don't have a problem with it and in reality anyone who says "The regular season doesn't matter you idiots!" shouldn't either. After all "The regular season doesn't matter you idiots!". Therefore, Deng missing part of the regular season doesn't matter you idiots. |

Winning the regular season gave the Bulls the #1 seed in the playoffs the last two years --- not just the East, but through the Finals. |

It's weird for him to say that the regular season doesn't matter, since he specifically likes the NBA because the top teams come out on top, rather than being upset all the time like in the NCAA tourney. But you wouldn't have that situation occur if you didn't have a lengthy regular season that properly slated those top teams into the top seeds. He should probably say that the overall regular season matters, but individual games don't matter - or rather individual games aren't necessarily good predictors or turning points or proving grounds. |

I find it more irritating that he didn't have surgery right away. "They" said he could be back by the playoffs (meaning the ones they just lost). |

The Summer Olympics don't start until the end of July. If Luol Deng underwent the surgery tomorrow, I think he could return by the time Great Britain plays their first game in Olympic basketball. But noooo.... |

Yes and you factually responded to an obvious sarcastic statement. |

I hope Deng plays in the Olympic games and has a wonderful time doing it. Afterwards, I hope he has the surgery to ensure the wrist doesn't continue to be a problem. Let him miss the first 2 months of the season....let the Bulls struggle without Rose and Deng and maybe even lose more games than they win before either returns. Then, Deng returns in November/ December and Rose in January and they get on a roll and make the playoffs. Maybe they get the 6th seed or worse, but they make it. The home court advantage is overrated and with everyone healthy, they can overcome it. Plus, they will get a far better draft pick following next season as a result. Not a big deal at all. |
