So the Nets are trying to build a roster with Joe Johnson, Williams, Howard and they already have Wallace and presumably Brooks Lopez. The Knicks are front runners with Toronto for Steve Nash. The Bulls meanwhile debate whether to bring back Asik. As a casual fan who keeps trying to get more into the NBA, someone tell me how this doesn't blow for the Bulls for the next couple years. |

Nets would trade Lopez in the Howard deal. That threesome doesn't impress me. Toronto will get Nash. Next season will be a loss anyway with Rose and Deng recovering. |

Pretty much what TP said. The team was always going to play grabass with the remaining roster and hope that Rose has some miraculous comeback in him. The Nets would sell a lot of jerseys if they had those 3 together on 1 roster, but similar to Miami had to adjust to, that cap situation is going to initially be absolutely crippling. |

Who cares if Toronto gets Nash? They will still be a lottery team. |

Based on some tweets I read last night, adding Joe Johnson and re-signing Deron Williams pretty much takes the Nets out of the D12 Sweepstakes from a cap perspective. |

So, for the Nets, is it virtually impossible to sign Williams if they acquire Howard? That Johnson contract is quite a thing. Good luck with that. |

There is no way the Nets are making any moves that would stop them from getting Dwight Howard. It's not like Howard is guessing that the Nets have interest in him when he comes out and says that he's going to the Nets no matter what whether it is this year or next year. |

Don't forget the Nets just gave Gerald Wallace $10M/year as well. |

That's definitely common sense. However, I was reading yesterday that the Nets are still pissed about what Howard pulled this past season and now they dont trust him, which is one of the things that prompted the JJ trade. Don't forget the Nets also signed Gerald Wallace for 4 year/$40M. I don't think they can have Deron/JJ/Gerald/Dwight. |

I think because of Humphries and Lopez's bird rights, they can expand their salary cap enough to fit everyone through sign and trades. |

Joe Johnson is over rated. I've never seen him take over a game but yet he still makes all star teams. Nets are nothing with this team but fighting with the knicks for the 8 seed. |

He's overpaid but I don't think JJ has been overrated since they 2nd round performance against the Magic a few years ago. He lost his star label then. |

Correct .... what exactly makes the Nets think he won't do it to them when he decides his pussy hurts enough (for whatever bullshit reason)? |

seriously a threesome of deron, joe johnson, and dwight howard doesn't mortally scare me that muc. however, a threesome of the ghost of two-legged derrick rose, luol deng, and........ noah? does. welcome to NBA hell, kids!!! the SUPER TRY-HARD BULLS(tm) had a go at it, they failed.... clearly their window was last year and if they could have somehow gotten past the heat.... and you know, give derrick credit... the kid has heart i mean he knew that was on him last year and he stepped up blamed himself and kept on improving despite playing a game that literally destroyed his body. i can only hope to god that either his injury causes him to radically shift his game to the point where even if it's bums around him he's ok to let them be the leading scorers.... or well, the fainter prayer is that the bulls surround derrick with thoroughbreds. cuz it's a FACT that the bulls will never seriously contend for a title with derrick rose as their leading scorer. |

Lets all just hope that MJ continues to run the Bobcats organization into the ground so the Bulls can have the #1 pick in 2016. |

I feel about the same. A lot of top talent, solid 2's and such are going to be locked up next year. If the Bulls tank next season, who will be available to sign when they want to open up the championship window? And the Bulls higher ups are hemming and hawing about Asik? Talking about Courtney Lee? The contract of Deng haunts this team. Even the Celtics are trying to keep the window from slamming shut. I'm trying to not be knee-jerk reactionary, but who lands on this Bulls team this time next year? |
