Itll be interesting to see what the Bulls do with it. If they don't use it this year it becomes a wasted asset. Salary wise it can be used to turn Deng or Noah's salary into a superstar. You can also land a really good rotation player for that price.

It looks like they might do the smart thing and let Asik walk. With him and Korver gone, I think they need to use the exception in conjunction with Taj and look to significantly upgrade their four position, letting Boozer go via amnesty after this season.

The big thing with the trade exception is the deadline though. If they don't use it this season that becomes a significantly worse trade.

I don't know what the Bulls plan to use with that exception, but they're on the list for one of the NBA's biggest stiffs of all time. Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports that Darko Milicic, just let go by the Timberwolves, has the NBA Champion Heat, Clippers, Bulls & Nets on the list.

I'm fairly certain the Bulls could use this trade exception next season. I think the new CBA changed this. That's how the Lakers were able to acquire Nash by using the trade exception they got from the Mavs last season.

Yeah because it was within 1 year, or they would have lost it. I thought I read that. Could be wrong.

I imagine they'll find a way to use it by then. I think they're going to try to get another "star" because they understand Rose won't be what he was and he'll definitely need help.

They should just make Thibs turn Jimmy Butler into a great player. That would give them a lot more flexibility.

Not even his closest family believe he'll be great. He has James Johnson written on him with more intelligence. He seems like a very coachable kid but the talent isn't there. Very willing defender. Needs to fill out but he can be a solid role player.

Kind of an overlooked piece when talking about the what they do going forward. Butler's currently doing a Deng impression in the summer league. That would be huge if he could be the piece at SF in two years.

Who is out there to get who would be that "star"?

I hope you are right, but just not sure I see it

25 Points yesterday in the first summer league game.

My Jimmy Butler jersey is in the mail.
