Am I the only one not really excited about this? Awesome regular season record and then? A guy who wants to win with a defense first style of play....maybe an outdated plan in today's NBA? Free agents not exactly beating down the door to sign with them. I'm trying to figure out which year will be the firing/buyout year of this deal. Help me out, Bulls guys. |

It is a little puzzling why top NBA free agents continue to avoid Chicago, even though players around the league say they'd like to play with Derrick Rose, when healthy of course. I wonder if they use the Bulls for leverage, just like Dwyane Wade did when he re-signed with the Miami Heat. |

I honestly think it's because so many of these guys are in cliques formed from playing together all offseason on the Olympic team, etc. They want to have a good time or live in a great place as opposed to going to a winning team. The discipline Thibs and Derrick have actually deters these idiots, as opposed to attracting them. Might have been a different story 20 years ago. Maybe not. |

He is by far the best coach we have had since Phil, and he's one of the best in the league. |

Nor is the way that the team is constructed. GarPax are the ones who constructed a grindy, try-hard team. And you're right: that is an outdated plan in today's NBA. I'm sure Thibs would prefer that they had a scoring option outside of Derrik Rose. But they play hard for him and respond well to his style. They're just not constructed to be very much more than a decent regular season team, with or without Rose. That's on the front office. |

The 2011 champs used this model. |

Eh, I hear you but I think that's more the exception than the rule. I wouldn't play those odds if I'm building a team. |
