Doubt you guys do game threads and I am going to a Halloween party in 15 mins but the 1st Quarter summary could be summarized as FUGLY! I think the Bulls shot 16 FTs and shot less than 20% from the field and Miami looked worse. I think Skiles has been coaching them on the intricacies of how to draw a foul this preseason. Seems to be working.

Noce, Luol look solid. Kirk has been broke. I like seeing Due get to the hole on that fast break...last year he would have pulled back.

Did you see that follow by Tyrus? SICK!!!!!

stilll watching, Tyrus is a man around the basket, Shaq looking old! Tyrus had a nice move about 12 ft out to draw a foul, good sign. FTs could have been better

They're taking it to the whole aggressively, you can tell they are pissed off about the FT disparity in last years playoffs

Do you think Ben Wallace will have blonde hair and two arms full of tatoos in the next year or so?

I laughed when I first read about it, but it looks like this whole technical for complaining to the refs nonsense is going to stick. A lot of technicals called for one half of play.

Nas..how many more nights like this before you change your mind about Thomas? He doesn't have to hit jumpers if he plays like this around the hoop...

Thomas is still a few years away.

Based on last night's performance, he's significantly closer than that. He already has better awareness on defense than Tyson Chandler did after three years in the NBA. And Tyrus is much more physically gifted, too....

Thomas is more than energy. Yes, he's raw, and probably can't be that effective in a half-court offense, but he already has more offensive skill and coordination that Chandler ever showed with the Bulls.

Let's keep in mind that this Bulls team gave Miami their best run (well in my opinion) in the playoffs. Now we eliminate Tyson Chandler and add Ben Wallace along with our other draftees (who by the way looked damn good last night). Call me NAS, but I think this team will be in the NBA Finals THIS year. I don't think the Heat's Shaq and Zo will be able to get through the season and Wallace will have his way with them come playoff time.

It could happen. I won't commit to making that prediction yet, but the East doesn't have that one monster team that scares the hell out of me. I think if they want it, there's nothing standing in the way.

I love the optimism Ryan, and after last night who can blame you.
I view this team much like the 2005 Bears - strong defensive presence with Wallace in the middle and athletic defenders at all other positions (except Gordon), but a work in progress on the offensive end.

They can't afford too many 25% shooting quarters like Q1 last night.

Now if Little Ben steps up and becomes the go to scorer (ie. Grossman this year), then I'll be downing a glass of kool-aid right along your side.

Maybe longer. The guy is only 21

Yeah, as I posted that, I thought "actually, probably more like 15 years."

I'm going to reserve judgment on this team until after the circus trip. If they can be .500 or better out West, than they are legit.

Bulldog, pay close attention to the Texas triangle portion of that trip - specifically how they look against San Antonio and Dallas. If the Bull can take at least two of those three Texas games and go at least 5 and 2 overall on that trip, I'm crowning their asses.

Yes, Brandon Roy is the favorite for Rookie of the Year, but I'd say a major reason is because he is pretty much the go to guy on the Blazers. If Gay, Carney, Foye, etc. were on the Blazers, then they would be the favorite to win simply because they would be the go to guy for that team. Many other rookies will not be getting the ball nearly as much as Roy. Notice that Morrison is the go to guy in Charlotte and he is the second favorite. If Roy were on the BUlls, he would not be the favorite. Hell he probably wouldn't even be starting...at least not right away.
