I think it all depends on matchups and sometimes having the higher seed isn't better.

That is 6 #1 seeds winning since 1999. Guess which seed has the highest number of championships in that stretch of time? Number 1 seed. No lower than a #3 seed has won the championship in that time.

How many teams lower than a 3 seed even made it to the championship you ask? 3. Three out of a possible 28 teams were a 4 seed or lower.

Do some research before you spout off shit. Not that there would be a risk of anyone accidentally thinking you know any little bit about the NBA.

that list proves from #1 to #3 it basically matters on who you play, not your seed number. it is interesting that a 4 has never won, but that just shows you how significant it is that from 1 to 3 it matters none.

this is a stupid thread. Or it turned out that way. Home Court advantage is assured by being the one seed. The NBA is the one sport where Home Court/Field is important. Match up or not. This is all silly.

Ideally I would like to see them as the #1 seed, but there is really no catching Miami at this point. I think the Bulls would do best as a 2, 3 or 6 seed. Being that they are a better road team I think having a lower seed might put a little less pressure on them if they can get one or two of the first round series games on the road.

Right now, they'd draw the Knicks in Round 1 in a #3 vs. #6 matchup, but tomorrow's rematch with the Nets at the U.C. might also be a first round matchup in a possible #4/#5. Even if Derrick Martell Rose doesn't play 1 minute, I think this Bulls' team is good enough to win their first series and that's it.

Besides, Chet Coppock always referred to Michael Jordan as Michael Jeffrey Jordan, not to mention Mike Ditka as Michael Kellard Ditka. The late, great Harry Kalas also once referred to Phillies' 3B Mike Schmidt as Michael Jack Schmidt, too.

They won't catch the Heat. That's a given. The Eastern Conference is a crapshoot beyond the #1 seed.

I've heard Silvy suggest the Bulls finish as high as #3 so they would avoid Miami until the Conference Finals. If they finished at #4 or #5, they might get the Heat in Round 2 depending on the bracket.
