Chicago Bulls Rumors: Derrick Rose to Return Monday Against the Denver Nuggets Quote: Earlier in the week, Bulls television color analyst, Stacey King, said that Rose’s explosiveness had returned and that his return would be imminent. Furthermore, the Bulls game was originally scheduled to air on Chicago Comcast Sportsnet Plus, the alternative station of Comcast Sportsnet, but it was now changed to the main station, Comcast Sportsnet. He is also supposedly mentally ready. http://www.rantsports.com/nba/2013/03/1 ... r-nuggets/ i know there is a thread about this but this is more official and better |

D Rose should be ashamed of himself. I don't know who is advising him to not play, but Derrick would be wise to fire him. I'm surprised the fan backlash isn't bigger that it is, given how Chicago fans react to situations like this, (Cutler). Derrick is a pussy. |

He's not firing Reggie Rose anytime soon. |

I just love that Cutler was seen walking into a restaurant after the NFC championship game and not only Chicago, but the nation decided he is a goldbricking, primadonna, son of a bitch asshole. Rose has been cleared by doctors to play and the media are tripping over themselves to justify why he is right. I've never said this before but Ike is 100% correct in everything he has said. |

Letting unqualified Family members influence a young Millionaire star athlete is a really bad idea. I'll bet Reggie's bank account is a lot larger than Derrick realizes too. |

You're right, and I've seen good solid arguments on both sides of the issue. I still haven't really decided how to feel. I think I'll wait awhile and allow hindsight to direct me later on. |

Unnecessary shot at Derrick's intelligence aside, if he's "far from a Rhodes Scholar" as you say, then you probably shouldn't expect him to make better decisions, right? I think you've just been waiting to pounce on the guy and now you have your reasons. |

If Derrick was on the Miami Heat, Chicago people would be ripping the shit out of him. Why the double standard? I expect a guy with as much money as Derrick to hire intelligent people who know more about finances & public relations than he does. I'll say it again...it is bad business for someone like Derrick to entrust his career to an unqualified Family member like his dumb ass Brother. |

I've had a ton of patience with the guy, but my patience is starting to wane. If he's not back in this next 3 game stretch, then I'm fully on board the Derrick Rose douchebag nomination bandwagon. Yes, I understand this is a lost season, and with or without him, they have zero chance of winning a title, but I don't want to see the guy sit out 18 months of basketball. I think that will have an effect on him, and any time he spends on the floor this season to shake off the rust is a good thing. With that being said, if he comes back, and there's is any discomfort whatsoever in the knee, I would shut him down immediately, no questions asked. I would just like to see a bit of entertaining basketball in the last stretch of the season. I watch most of the games, and this season has been tough to swallow. If Rose can come back, maybe they can make a run on the division title. I'd be fine with that, and just being competitive in the playoffs. But I'm with you, OKC. I see both sides of the argument, and me wanting him to play is more for selfish reasons, and I'm fine with that. |

Keeping Score wrote: What a terrible guy that Derrick Rose is: It is one of the saddest, makes-your-stomach-turn stories in a long time — in Chicago 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins was shot and killed in what police say was a gang-related attempt on the child’s father’s life while he was changing Jonylah’s diaper in a parked minivan. The baby was shot five times in the incident. Derrick Rose has stepped up and offered to pay for the funeral, reports ABC affiliate WLS in Chicago. Rose has offered to help pay for Jonylah’s funeral expenses. Others have come forward to donate money to a reward fund to help find the killer. Tuesday night, that reward fund stood at $11,000. NBCChicago.com confirmed that with a local preacher. Previously, Rose reportedly paid for the funeral of rapper Lil’ Jo Jo, who was shot while riding his bike in Chicago last fall. While Rose has heard some frustration from Bulls fans that he has not pushed to get back on the court from ACL surgery as his team has stumbled toward the finish line (the Wednesday night loss in Sacramento was ugly), what nobody has ever questioned is Rose’s love of Chicago. He was born and raised there, he has a passionate commitment to the city. He tweeted in the past, during a rash of murders going on in Chicago, how much it pained him to see the city go through that. He tweeted about the Chicago public schools strike. Paying for Jonylah’s funeral is a small thing, a small gesture. But it’s something he can do to help a city deal with things far more important than basketball. Cool, maybe he can do this for a living since it is not very taxing on his knee. I think he can still donate money to people while playing NBA basketball. One does not interfer with the other. |

Can Rose go on a rehab assignment to Iowa? or is he too important to do that? Would Adidas not want Hashtag The Return Mixed Case No Spaces to be sullied by some cowtown pre-return? Seems like it would be better to ease him in that way than to expect him to come back after all this and start a game like nothing happened. |

I don't think you can designate an NBA player for assignment. Are there even D-League affiliates for NBA teams? |

Apparently only 1st or 2nd year players are allowed to go to the D-League to rehab from injuries. |
