1. The kid was not going to play here. Paxson did not want to get Younger at all . 2. JR has done well, but nothing amazing 3. Knock on him in the league is GREAT TALENT, just no work, no passing, everything Skiles would hate. 4. The kid is going to shoot shoot shoot this year. His 3 years deal is up and he goes Free Agent- thus needs the stats to get paid. He is a good talent, but a terrible fit for the Bulls right now and thus he was cut |

I agree that he wasn't a good fit, but why give him away for Howard Eisley when he has a little bit of value? They could have gotten more for him... |

I'm just glad that the Bulls were able to free up money by dealing him for Howard Eisley so they could sign Griff. Griff is just such a veteran and helps this team in so many ways. He's so scrappy. Why would we want a guy who can hang 35 on us? We have plenty of proven scorers. Nice move, Pax. |

I'm almost on board with you, Nas, that Pax had a terrible offseason...if they're still playing like this by game 20, I'm sold. I'm not going to write him off as a terrible GM, though. He still has a pretty good track record in the draft...and he molested Isiah on the Curry deal... |

Even after a night like this, I'm still not upset that they didn't keep JR Smith. What upsets me is the horrible trade Pax made. You don't have to keep him if you don't think he fits, but you damn well better get more than Howard Eisley (a worthless player you subsequently cut) and two meaningless 2nd round picks. |

He could have been a nice piece in a midseason deal for a vet (KG or Pierce). Instead, if they want to make a move, they'll have to unload at least one (probably two) of their "Core of Four". |

Wow . 36 points. He did admit circling the Bulls game on the schedule and training his butt off for it. Pax wussed out on him because of character issues as well as work habits, right? Is he insane like Artestt, or did he have a rap sheet? Just 21 yr old growing pains? There goes the scoring the Bulls needed. |

George Karl made some comments after the game of having a love hate relationship with him from night to night. He's still young and learning how to score so if you want to use him you have to take the 5-25 nights along with the nights like last night. Paxson probably could have gotten more for him had he tried harder but he would not have fit in with the Bulls for many reasons noted above. I don't frown on Paxson for trading Smith, but I do frown for what he got for a seemingly legit 15-18 point scorer in the league. As for the character issues, he feuded with Byron Scott all year last year to the point that they wouldn't even speak to one another. It all got out in the press and once that happened, they had to choose between Scott and Smith. The Hornets chose to keep Scott as coach and move Smith. The feud stemmed from Scott and the assistants trying to help Smith improve his game to the next level and Smith basically not accepting the instructions and with the Hornets in playoff contention, they just moved him down the rotation. |

Quote: Paxson knew the Bulls didn't need a 6'6" guy, that’s 21 years old, very athletic and that can score. Why? Because he didn't know how to play defense yet.
Reminds me of another 6'6" Bulls guard who didn't play defense when he came into the league. Bald guy, used to jump real high - jeez, what was that guy's name? |

Nope Hawkeye. Wrong on both counts. I was actually talking about Keith Booth. |

I'm about to shut out the NBA until my Mavs make their championship push in the spring. Watching the Bullz is just pointless aggravation and self-torture. |
