Bulls pretty much have the deck stacked against them in this series. I don't think Rose will play, but will still be a distraction. Heat in 5. Lebron cries at least 9 times in this series.

Predictions:

Bulls steal game 1.

Wade is ineffective.

Boozer and Bosh get in pushing match.

Taj Gibson has a great dunk, but is otherwise ineffective.

Nate Robinson is horrible.

Bulls win in 7.

Marco Belinelli announces he is actually Danilo Gallinari.

Very impressed by the Bulls in game seven. Outstanding job by all, especially Thibs.

I think it's a "win" for the Bulls if they lose in six.

Bulls lose game 1, but Deng comes back and plays just long enough to give the big 3 Meningitis. Bulls win the next 4.

Man, the schedulers don't mess around in the playoffs. This hurts the Bulls. After seeing it, I'm willing to give one more game to the Heat.

Bulls in five.

The Bulls have some advantages in this series. If Noah plays like he did against the Nets in Game 7, I don't even think the Birdman will be able to stop him. There isn't anyone on the Heat who can really guard Carlos Boozer. Also the Bulls can potentially play tough enough defense to hang in the game.

I think the X-factor is whether you have Deng and Hinrich. Nate is not afraid to shoot, but he's not a point guard and the Bulls are sluggish with him running the point. Plus he's so short he may be getting doubleteamed or trapped by the guy switching on the pick and roll. His strength is coming off the bench.

The Bulls have to hope that Carlos Boozer doesn't pick up crappy fouls and that he doesn't miss help rotations which lead to dunks by the Heat. The Bulls also have to stop the Heat in transition because they get a lot of garbage points by cherry picking and leaking out. Also the Bulls are going to need 3 guys to consistently score 20 points in each game. Robinson, Boozer and Deng, Belinelli or Butler. The reason for that is because the Heat typically score 60 to 80 points between their big three.

How the bench and lesser players play will be a big factor. If Chalmers, Allen and Battier are swishing wide open threes the Bulls are going to be in big trouble. The other thing is the referees are going to give the Heat all the calls then it's going to be difficult for the Bulls.

The Bulls cannot rely on Robinson in this series like they did the last. The Heats' perimeter defense is superb, and his missed shots will lead to long rebounds and transition points for Miami. Noah has to continue playing like a star, Boozer has to average 18, and Taj has to play better than he has been. Interior scoring is a must, or this series will be over before it starts.

If you think the Bulls were hit some bad calls against the Nets wait until somebody breathes on Wade and Lebron. It wouldn't surprise me if it's even worse, as the NBA may still have nightmares of Kirk's tackle of LeBron and the possibility of getting a Westbrook situation.

I was looking at the stats from the matchup 2 years ago against the Heat and the Bulls played well enough defensively to win, but their offense let them down. The percentages were not good and Noah didn't score more than 9 points the whole series.

With Deng and Hinrich I would like the matchup against the Heat from a defensive perspective. But if Nate Robinson is going to be out there for a good part of the game the Bulls may suffer because of it. There is not anyone on the Heat that he can really guard other than maybe Norris Cole.

The Bulls have to do a number of things right to win. They have to win on the boards, defensively, take care of the ball and they have to score between 90 and 110 points a game. The biggest thing they have to do is play team ball because Nate Robinson is probably not going to be able to bail them out if they get down 14 with 3 minutes to go.

If the Bulls can come out aggressive and punch the Heat in the mouth I like their chances for game 1.

As a vegan, it's tough to put that kinda hat on, but...oh, what the hell. Bulls in 5 due to TWTW factor. Rose amnestied and Robinson signed to a max contract extension.

Looks like the Trib is taking cues from the Herald's editorial department:

"Deng is out of the hospital. Without him, the Bulls likely will put Jimmy Butler on LeBron James. That means Marco Belinelli likely wo;; guard Dwyane Wade."

A simple spellchecker will catch "wo;;". The "o" and ";" are right next to "i" and "l".

Marco Belinelli is guarding Wade?

This will be interesting...

I was thinking about all the Thibs criticism, i.e. pushes players too hard in the regular season and stuff. Man, for them to win the Nets series was pretty amazing. They had so many guys out, and the ones that did play were largely hobbled. I think Thibs is a great coach, and just to get NBA guys to play hard consistently is a big skill. Guys like Skiles burnt his players out too fast, but the Thibs seems to have more staying power. I guess you could argue if he didn't push them so hard in the regular season they would be healthier now. Oh well. In any case, it ends with this series.
