You're not even a Bulls fan, so I can't say I'm surprised. But what in the everloving blue fuck would be the point of any fan rooting against the star player of their own team? He didn't come back last year. He should have. It's over. New season. Let's move on.

I hope he ironed his Superman cape this year because he's going to really need it. In particular I'm talking about the dozen moments per night when Luol Deng or Mike Dunleavy nervously pass him the ball with 5 seconds left on the shot clock hoping he'll beat his man one on one since they can't do it themselves.

If his shooting hasn't improved by now, it isn't ever going to.

im not writing these storys. i am just the satirical messenger. like steven colbert, only better. the fact that the media has gone the entire summer without going more then 3 days between a rose article is just hilarious to me. youre right, the guy hasnt played. in a looooong time. but rose hasnt done anything to downplay the hype either, he keeps reassuring us he is better then ever, ready to win a title, but he has a lot to work on and it will take time to get to full speed. the hypocrisy is mind boggling.

I don't disagree Ike. I was just taking exception to Scorehead's notion that Bulls fans should actively root against Rose. What kind of fucking sense does that even make?

a lot of people rooted for urlacher to retire early, but nobody argued that much.

Yeah, but I doubt anyone was rooting against him during actual games.

If Rose is good, the Bulls are good. Why root for him to struggle?

I know. But this is what Scorehead said in this thread:

I just think that's a ridiculous thought to have.

i dunno... part of me hopes derricks career freefalls into a comically entertaining miserable hole. the other part wants him to win a title. anything in the middle will just be meh.

I don't hate him. Just don't actively like him now. He'll have to win me back. Not that he cares.

If the Bulls get off to a 20-5 start or something, Scorehead will have a Bulls avatar and forget anything bad he said about Rose.

First, its not realistic to expect him to play at the same level he did before the injury. If he does, Thibodeau will kill him halfway through the season. He probably knows that and its why he is putting out messages to the Bulls through his brother to get help. Would you blame him if he did? He has to work on outside shooting for career preservation.

Chicago obviously isn't sexy enough for big name free agents. Because of that, the guy deserves to be on a winner like Miami, OKC or LA where he isn't punished for his style of play.

I said last year, the best career move Rose could make would be to go elsewhere to chase his championship dreams. He won't win one here, as much as I wish that weren't the case.

He'll be here for the foreseeable future though. If he comes back, and is terrible, that contract will be untradeable. If he comes back and is the same D-Rose as before, the Bulls will never move him. He's going to be here for the next 4 years no matter what.

How about recruit help if you think you need it.

It sucks balls, I want another run of Bulls championships. Unfortunately, its become a circus for the dumb. First people are pining for LeBron, Wade and Bosh. Now they are pining for the 2014 free agent class.

Bulls blog The latest news from Bulls reporter Nick Friedell. Blog

Derrick Rose's game might evolve a bit in his first season back from knee surgery, but the Bulls star's stance against recruiting free agents to Chicago hasn't.

"I don't recruit. If anyone wants to play with me, I don't mind playing with, it could be anyone in the NBA, but as far as recruiting, I never did and never will," Rose told rappler.com, a social news network, in a video this week.

Rose passed on recruiting free-agent stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and others in the summer of 2010. However, he apparently made one exception to his rule last offseason, when he said he helped bring in Kirk Hinrich.

"Kirk is someone I could see playing alongside a long time," Rose said last October. "When you're a hooper and you know someone on the court is going into a battle with you, and he's not giving up if he knows you are going to keep battling and I'm someone that will keep fighting to the end, and he's the same as you, so why not have him on the team? Kirk is the first person I recruited."
