Quote: K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop Teague is warming up and may be active for Bulls, which is unusual. But trade only agreed to in principle and likely completed Tuesday. I guess it shows how much the Nets/Bulls really care about the guys they just traded for. |

Bulls receive 6-9 forward Toko Shengelia, who has played primarily in the Development League. |

Quote: K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop Teague will dress because Bulls need to be at 12 active players. Won't play. Trade call Tuesday after holiday. False alarm. |

If the Bulls can trade Dunleavy they will have $19M to spend next summer. If not they are looking at $16M. |

If they determine Rose is not a superstar anymore, then Noah needs to be traded. I've been advocating moving Noah for a year now, but they need to do it for different reasons if Rose is not Rose anymore. Noah's value is tied to the Bulls being a contender; if they're not contending, then you do the obvious thing and move the only asset you have that's 1) valuable and 2) tradeable. |

Noah may have always been their most valuable player. Whenever he's been healthy the Bulls have been a different team. Considering the Bulls aren't truly rebuilding I would hold onto Noah. In fact I would trade Rose first. |

You don't trade the beat center in the league unless Lebron, Durant, or someone on that level is coming in return. |

Noah is not a person to build around, he's the kind of guy you add to a team to make it better. Holding on to Noah would be like holding on to the Deng-Hinrich-Gordon core on a micro level - it won't get them anywhere. |

I believe there are many teams that would gamble on Rose. |

I love the guy, but at the end of the day we're talking about a player whose best offensive asset is making passes that other good centers can't make, mainly because they're preoccupied with scoring, which is something Noah can't do. Also, this is less about Noah and more about the makeup of a team that has no superstar, assuming Rose is out for the count. I just don't think a limited center at 28 or 29 years old is someone you build around. If the Bulls get lucky, they can field a good team 2-3 years from now, when Noah is in his early 30s with his best days behind him. Sell high. |

You have to hope Rose returns even somewhere close to his elite level. His contract is unmovable, and the Bulls have to be banking on that. They will have a shit load of cap space to work with too. |

When Rose went down I said the Bulls will miss the playoffs, and that Thibs will get fired or he'll walk away. Somewhat still confident in that, but definitely sure the Bulls are not winning anything next year if Rose is not Rose anymore. |

Though they are a top three market team, they have to operate like a mid-size team in terms of investing a lot in NCAA scouting and astute FA pickups, since they can't rely on being in Chicago meaning much when they go shopping for top-level free agents. |

Noah for Durant or LeBron? I'm pretty confident in saying any GM on the Noah side of that deal would make that deal. No way does he bring that type of player in a trade. |

I realize my thoughts are exaggerating his value, but what can they do? A team with the possibility of scoring the #1 pick is not going to trade for him, because he isn't a franchise player, and the Bulls can't just trade him for some type of expiring contract dump because he is arguably the best center in the league. So what do they do? |

So what do they do? I agree on not getting a no. 1 pick, but they have to explore options at a time when his value is probably as high as it is ever going to get. In fact it might have been at its peak point this summer, fresh off a campaign that saw him elected to one of the All D teams. I'm not sure what's out there, but you have to secure whatever equivalent assets are out there if you want to salvage anything from Noah other than empty wins. |
