I realize the Bulls had high hopes for him and that he plays solid defense, but he's playing bad and should be benched. I don't know if Tony Snell is the answer, but Butler's shooting percentage is hovering around 30 percent in the last few games. Unless Butler turns into an amazing shooter the best he's going to be a defensive stopper who can't score. The Bulls need a two guard who can score 15 to 20 a night consistently. Until they have that they won't be able to beat teams like the Clippers.

He's just coming off an injury. There was a time Noah wasn't playing like Noah either. Give him a month or so and we'll see the Jimmy Butler we expected to see.

He's just another "good" guy. You need these guys to win. You need hustle guys that can hit open shots and defend. Sounds simple, but dont found them all day.

Guys sign 10 day contracts and they try harder than anyone else because they are on a 10 day.

Give me that hustle with a guy who can defend and I will take him.

The problem is when you start paying them like premier players.

But isn't that the problem with the Bulls? They have a bunch of guys who try very hard, but can't score because they're just not talented enough. Even with Rose out and Deng gone this team's defense only allows just over 90 points a game. What that tells me is they don't have enough scoring to be as good as the Pacers, the Heat or half of the top teams in the West. They have the right coach, but the wrong players.

D.J. Augustin is basically playing the role of the no. 1 scorer on the team, but the Bulls do not have that consistent 2nd scorer. Without Deng they have to rely on Dunleavy, Butler and Noah to pick up the slack.

Yes, they need another GREAT guy to win, but Good guys make it much easier. Problem again is paying Good guys to be Good.

Need to pay a guy to be GREAT first, then figure out who gets the rest

If Charlotte makes the playoffs don't the Bulls get their pick this year?

As long as Charlotte doesn't have a top 10 pick the Bulls get their pick.

They might actually get it then since Charlotte will be close to 8th in the East. I noticed that Tyrus Thomas was given amnesty.

Will be just the Bulls luck, Charlotte will have a decent year for them and the Bulls will get a pick not nearly as high as most expected from that deal.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. In a decimated Eastern Conference Charlotte was not going to be on the bottom forever. If this year's draft is deep then maybe a middle first round pick is better than a higher pick next year. You don't know really know that for sure until you have a couple years to look back at all the scenarios.

It may not be as bad if this draft is deep. It's still a good trade chip to have this summer considering the cap space they're going to have IF they amnesty Boozer. It's only an if because you never know what Jerry will do.

He probably wouldn't like paying the guy to not play.

That was my thinking. The Deng dump may make him more willing. Paying Boozer to play for the Heat or another team would probably piss him off.

good thing this bulls team is going to miss the lottery... so they can draft another late first rounder like butler who is limited offensively and cant generate his own shot.... because this team doesnt have enough of those players.

Players like that don't fit paxsons vision of the ideal team. Teams like Miami, San Antonio, and Oklahoma may have multiple players that can create, but they don't generate ball movement and a culture of hitting the open shot like the bulls do. One day the league will realize this and award the Bulls a ring.
