When all is said and done, that's what this will come down to. You want to listen to Melo tell you "it's not about the money", OK, I agree "IT's mostly about the money!" Without Taj's money, they can scrap together $15 mill. 2 years left on Noah's deal, 3 years on Rose, Melo is 29! If you trade Taj, you can offer Melo a MAX deal for a new team. or Jerry can bust open the massive war chest he has amassed over the past 20+ years and go into the 1:1 Tax!!!!!!! and Keep Taj. |

Keep Taj. There are plenty of SF out there you could allow to take 22 shots per game and they'll score in the high 20's each night. Lu is coming back with the hometown discount! |

Well, you have to give up Taj, if you want melo and you want Jerry to not have to the excise taxation Jerry will pay the tax IF he believes he has a championship team. I think adding Melo with Taj would put the Bulls in the championship conversation. Amnesty Boozer and trade the Knicks a $15M trade exception in a sign and trade deal. That would allow them to keep Taj and give Melo a max deal. |

I believe the Bulls will trade the rights to Mirotic this summer too. |

You don't need to get rid of Taj. All you need is some audio of Boozer talking about Mexicans smelling like tortillas & Silver will ban him for life. |

Nas wrote: I believe the Bulls will trade the rights to Mirotic this summer too. I do not know enough to make this decision. But from what I heard today on the radio he will be a huge cost. Bulls cannot pay his buyout like in Japanese baseball. So he will need a huge contract to pay that himself. If he is not Dirk then no. |

No one wants Melo? He opens up everything when he's on the block with the ball. The Bulls havnt had a great post up player since Jordan. He gets double teamed. He gets to the foul line. As long as he passes to the open shooter he'd be perfect. Thibs can hide him on defense. He's done it before. Even with Rose, the Bulls have not had a go to scorer in a close game at the end. You cant count on Rose goin to the hole. But I bet he'd make an open jumper. This is a no brainer. I'd help Taj pack. I'd rather have Aldridge but its just a dream. |

Nas wrote: I believe the Bulls will trade the rights to Mirotic this summer too. If this sign melo, for sure they will as they cant sign Mirotic then. They can avoid the tax by resigning some of their own players. Melos options 1. resign for HUGE money in NYC 2. sign for Max in LA and play with aged Kobe for one year and be the guy in LA 3. sign in chicago for about 80% of max and make winning a priority. Which do you think the wife pushes him to? |

His wife probably wants L.A. but he can't say that he wants to win again. Kobe may not be a top 50 player after all the surgeries he has had in the past 12 months. |

Dude is done. Dirk is probably the only nineties draft pick playing at a fairly high level.Maybe Duncan too but I haven't followed closely. The 2003 class will start their fall within the next two years. |

Garnett is a contemporary as well, surprising to me that he fell off a lot more than Dirk or Duncan who are still playing at all-star levels while KG struggles to cobble together a 6pt/6reb season |

I said he wasn't going to be a top 10 player a couple years ago and he went out and played like a top 5 player. |

Duncan does the same things he's always done when he's in the game. He just plays a little less. I'd also say he's noticeably less effective doing those things today, especially scoring, in addition to the obvious decline in agility, etc., that comes with age. Him not being able to finish one on one against Battier in a crucial moment last year in the finals captured his natural decline perfectly, and a bit tragically if you're a fan of his. |
