Sounds like they know that they aren't getting Melo. I used to be jealous of Aaron Afflalo... |

I like this approach better. Instead of waiting for the inevitable swing and miss, just cut your losses and move on to Mark Ruffalo. |

I hope this is part of a larger plan that starts with Love or maybe Melo. Affalo looks nice on paper but we've already tried the complimentary SG plan and it didn't end well. You need more. |

You need more. that is my hope as well. Affalo is a nice player and I would like to have him on the Bulls, but not as a consolation prize after losing out on Melo and Love |

I would not have a problem getting Afflalo for Boozer and a trade exception and using Afflalo and/or that trade exception to land a star player. Afflalo isn't a consolation prize IMO. He can put the ball in the basket and create his own shot. He's still young and going into a contract year. |

Guess which player is? http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/bulls-m ... ocid=yahoo I don't think anyone really knows what is going on. I have read in the last day that Rose and Thibs both have reached out to Melo. We know Noah has. |

Why does the NBA need to be grade school? Reach out? In football you want Jared Allen you go get him. Why do players need to go suck his dick? Come or don't. |

Melo is a liar if he's unwilling to take anything less than the max. Seeing that he is not approaching free agency from a position of strength (his team sucks and will not win a title anytime soon), you either want a ring or you want the max - you can't have it both ways. Either live paycheck to paycheck by taking a 3-6 million dollar pay cut, or sign for the max somewhere and continue to be irrelevant until you retire. |

I haven't read anything about Rose recruiting anyone. I wonder if he really wants to win or if he cares more about being the man. |

Not campaigning/recruiting makes sense when there is an established incumbent whose spot on the team/starting lineup would be jeopardized if your recruiting proves to be successful. That made sense in 2010 when Deng would have lost out if LBJ signed here. Clearly you'd prefer LBJ over Deng, but it wouldn't be tactful if Rose or anyone publicly recruited James to the Bulls. Now it's a bit murky because you don't have a Deng entrenched at SF or PF, but I can still agree with the reasoning if that reasoning is something like "I don't want to stab my guys in the back." This doesn't prevent Rose or whomever from doing some covert recruiting through back channels. |

I just don't see melo coming. Jerry is happy with the ROI. Bulls fans are worse than Cubs fans. |

I agree that business is good but they were ready to open up the coffers in 2010 for LBJ and Wade. The difference as of now between the Bulls and the Cubs is one team has given themselves a shot at a decent future even while winning in the present - that's what keeps the hope alive for some. |

NBA peeps are worried about the Bulls right now. A starting 5 of Rose, Afflalo, Carmelo, Taj + Noah w/ Butler as 6th man is VERY doable. |

Fear not NBA peeps, Thibs will run that lineup into the ground. Come playoff time there will be 2 healthy bodies on the Bulls roster. |
