It looks like the 76ers will be buying out the remainder of Chris Webber's contract. I know he's way past his prime and not a Skiles type of player but given their need at PF, is there any chance the Bulls would give him a look?

He doesn't play defense anymore, and because of that, the Bulls wouldn't keep him on the floor....not to mention, he has had a questionable attitude at times.

I think he'll sign with a team like Miami - that team is so banged up right now.

My first thought was he's a guy who could score down low...but then I realized this wasn't 2002 anymore. No way he's a Bull. I'm with Nas...he'll end up in Miami.

They said on the radio that this fool is earning $20mildo this year! Good god are the 76ers ever taking it in the pooper on that deal.

In a buyout situation, the guy could end up just about anywhere. Jalen Rose had a ridiculous contract (circa $16 mil), was bought out by the Knicks, and signed with Phoenix for the veteran’s league minimum. Miami wouldn’t surprise me given their injury woes, but there are plenty of teams out there that would offer the guy a small contract for the remainder of the season. The Bulls won’t, but I don’t expect Webber to be unemployed for long.

God I wish I could ball. The NBA is set up in such a way that some real dogs can get paid; oftentimes by two teams at once.

KS, that’s a definite possibility. There were rumors Isiah wanted him, but since ownership has put him on financial lockdown, it was impossible for him to take on another big contract. If Webber keeps his Philly money and accept a veteran’s minimum from the Knicks, that’s another story and Isiah probably would be given the green light.

His career numbers are very nice.
20+ ppg / 10+ rpg / 4.5 apg
Just his contract was 3 years too long.
I have a hard time seeing how he can improve any contending team.

Why the hell would anyone choose the Knicks?
Especially an old free agent veteran star at the end of the road.

I don't remember Webber ever playing defense.

Torch, what is that guy with Boers holding up?

From the looks of Terry, it's either the papers to have him committed, or his pre-pay funeral contract.

Chris Webber in 2007 = Derrick Coleman in 1997...and that ain't a good thing.
