Rose got poked in the eye. Probably means another three weeks out of the lineup after this game.

They need to put teams like this away. Missing all of these shots may end up biting us in the ass. Augustin probably wants to put on a show.

Post Gasol up. Rose is shooting the Bulls out the game.

Josh Smith is an idiot that you love to play against.

He is. He has had a better career up to this point. According to people on here Taj is the 8th best power forward in the league.

He would be wrong. Years ago he was but now he's not a good player and there is a chance he will be responsible for an on court heart attack by Van Gundy.

To say that this board over rates Taj Gibson would be the understatement of the yr. Josh Smith has not played as well in Detroit as he did in Atl. That team is mismatched and has been hurt by I a few things namely the worst starting point guard in the league. This board also repeatedly stated that Taj. is better than Gasol has is that working out?

Rebounding has been an issue for this team. I'll admit to overrating Taj slightly of you'll admit saying Josh Smith was wrong. Josh Smith literally has a negative impact on games now.

Smith may be on the downside of his career. He is only 28 yrs. old but his decision to sign with Detroit has been a huge mistake. You live with some of the threes in the past because he did so many other things which impacted games. I think he is better than Taj even now but it is becoming more difficult to make the argument

Smith is the same player he was during his last couple seasons in Atlanta. They should have just written into his contract that he gets a $10,000 fine every time he takes a 3.

That player was better than Taj Gibson. Taking threes being a little undisciplined he was better than Taj Gibson. That Josh Smith was, a legit all star candidate. When has Taj Gibson ever been considered an all star candidate?

its sad to see a player that could have easily been a top 20 player in the league waste all that potential
he has a really unique skill set
and a strong motor

That is why coaches have lived with the bad three point shots. He has been productive over the yrs. The three pointers are what people focus on but he does other things. If you simply went by the comments on here and not watch him you would think he is the second coming of Tyrus Thomas.

Josh Smith has never won a thing in his career. He makes Carmelo Anthony look like Bill Russell.

huh? The Hawks advanced past the 1st round several times during the Smith/JJ/Bibby era, with Smith contributing...i mean yeah they didn't win a title but i wouldn't say he was a loser or has never won a thing

More talk show analysis. It's like Jeff Van Gundy stated last week. Winning is more a product of who you play with and against. This whole thing that everyone that has never won anything is unequivocally a loser is a product of the talk show era and is akin to lazy radio. It's generic. Steve Kerr has five rings because he had the luxury of being on teams with Jordan and Duncan. Is he more of a winning player than Josh Smith. He had won more obviously but if Josh Smith were on those teams he would have five rings. Stephen Jackson would be considered an idiot by your standards he has a ring because he played with Duncan. Guys that consistently lead teams to the playoffs are not losers.

he desperately needs to be on a team like the Spurs where they have an established system and veterans to keep him in check . Mike Woodson, Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby were not those people....and i think we can all agree that the Pistons were the absolute worst team for him to go to

Absolutely.

Do you think it's too late for someone like Van Gundy to teach him to be a team player?

at this point i think its too late, yes. i don't think (physically) he's declining yet but at the same time he's not 21 anymore
I like Van Gundy ok but i don't think he's reigning him in. i think the teammates he's surrounded himself are the bigger issue though

i mean if you want to talk about a real loser, what about Brandon Jennings
