They have 22 games left. They'd be happy to go 11-11. |

This is going to be great for Snell. He is going to pick up some big minutes which will help him during the run up to the playoffs. Someone put out a hit right now on Kirk. |

High floor and great character guys help your depth but they don't push you over the top without a star player. Not firing you top assistant because he talks too much would also be smart. |

I remember thinking they were getting Wade in that draft and I was pumped. Marquette is the only college team I KINDA follow. That's what most people thought at the time but they got HineRick (fuck his spelling) Imagine the difference that would have made in NBA history |

In fairness to Paxson his intention was to draft Wade. No one knew he would be as good as he turned out to be. He was not considered a must have guy at the time and in some circles he was considered a reach. |

I followed this specific situation very closely. In fact there was talk the Bulls would trade up to bring him home |

I don't remember anyone predicting stardom for him and I followed it closely. Not those who jumped on the bandwagon after he began playing in the NBA those wo said it as he came out of Marquette. |

Im not getting into a back and forth with you. If you want to remember it incorrectly, that's on you. I read everything written on Wade and other than some questioning his size, many people projected stardom, which is why he was a top 5 pick in a loaded draft |

He stated that the Wade pick was the first big shocker in the draft. That is sort of how I remember most of the comments. Its not about back and forth its about not being a revisionist historian. |

That is sort of how I remember most of the comments. Its not about back and forth its about not being a revisionist historian. Apparently you missed where I responded to that post and explained the context of the surprise to you Just stop, you're wrong. Pre-draft Player Analysis Wade was considered an outstanding professional prospect and the NBA scouts and the biggest questions they had is which position he would be suited for. They thought of him as a physical two-guard, and due to his size could also be good a playing the point. He showed great point guard instincts when it comes to getting his teammates involved. "I felt I was playing good all year," says Wade, who began his college career by sitting out because he was academically ineligible his freshman season and ended it averaging 21.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists last season. Dwyane Wade Strengths: Dwyane Wade possesses one of the most explosive 1st steps of any other college basketball player since.... Dwyane Wade is an extremely athletic basketball player who has tremendous leaping ability and dominates ball games with his quickness. His Athletic body allows him to use his body to his advantage and allows him to finish many of his post moves and grab many rebounds thanks to his 6-11 Wing Span which makes up for his small 6-4 stature. His agility provides him with excellent body control to convert difficult shots off the glass and once Dwyane Wade enters the lane he has the ability to drive and dish the ball out to his teammates if the defense collapses. He plays very poised and is mature for his age and his facial expression shows no emotion, in the ups and downs of the ball game, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem. Dwyane Wade plays perimeter defense very solidly and possesses a great understanding on how to cut-off the passing lanes and he understands how to shield off his defender when driving to the basket making him a defensive force. He is very unselfish and does not force up bad shots. Dywane Wade's Weakness: He is dangerously close to being a combo guard. He is too small to be a shooting guard and does not possess enough point guard skills to run a team offensively. Dwyane Wade rarely relied on the perimeter game in college due to his ability to take his defender off the dribble. While he shows good range in his shot, his mid-range shooting remains somewhat streaky. Dwyane Wade must improve on moving without the ball since he often needs the ball to create effective offensive plays and could use some tweaking and should mature if he plays the point guard in the NBA. His Size: Many undersized guards have a hard time transitioning to the NBA game. However Dwyane Wade has the benefit of long arms which allow him to play big for his size. He is not much of a 3-point shooter although he does have the ability to make 3's at times. Another point mentioning is that he often doesn't get his body fully squared to the basket, throwing his shot of a little. |

Because the thinking was that Miami would take a big man, not because Wade In their pre draft predictions they also had Milwaukee taking T.J. Ford and Wade falling to the Bulls at seven. I do remember talk of Miami taking a big man I think possibly Kaman or someone else but it was sort of an upset that Wade didn't fall to the Bulls at seven. I wouldn not hang that one on Paxson. |

Paxson wanted him so Im not really blaming him. Should have traded up but at the time, it didnt even seem like they would have to |

With all of the analysis you just provided ESPN had T.J. Ford and guys like Mickeal Pietrus possibly going ahead of Wade. Where I am supposed to stop at? Your analysis about the draft being deep is also off. After the first five that draft tailed off tremendously. There were not many if any stars after that. Solid players no stars. I will look at the draft list for confirmation. |

I can blame him for Tyrus Thomas. For years I dismissed it because we got Rose but that is arguably worse than the Pippen for Polynice trade. At least Polynice had a long career. |

I will look at the draft list for confirmation. It was considered loaded at the time. Why would it matter what happened years later in the context I said that? Ford was thought of as the next great PG and Pietrus was nicknamed fucking Euro Jordan. If a draft is considered loaded, the guy who goes 5th was probably projected as a star. Every single player could bust out and that fact wouldn't change. This is why Im not getting into this with you. Have a nice day. |

Just looked at the draft list there were about 10 busts at least in the first round of that draft so I don't know how deep it actually was. In terms of Paxson the Thomas draft was wrong on a number of fronts. People give Paxson grief for Aldridge but to me the guy I wanted the Bulls to draft was Brandon Roy. He was the better player prior to injury. |

I was right about him but Aldridge was clearly the better pick because Roy had a career ending injury. |
