They dont want to release of trade him before the draft. Its not the 'Freezing him out" plan that some have reported....... |

Why wouldn't you trade him before the draft? A draft pick from whatever team he goes to will be more valuable this year. The guy has proven he can take crap to the playoffs. Releasing him would be foolish. |

Releasing him would be foolish. I think if it comes to a GOOD draft pick, then yes, they would trade him....that seems to be off the board right now. But the thinking is defensive in house right now....dont let him out the door with the secrets. Or maybe a deal gets done on a handshake basis that doesnt get formally done until after the draft....but they think the information they have on players is HIGHLY confidential to the degree they dont want anyone leaving the building with it. |

If he is as valuable as some think they shouldn't have any problem securing a second rd pick for him. There have been reports that some of the teams that were reputed to be interested are not that interested. They also are not interested in trading a pick. It also may be due to his lame duck status |

When you consider that everyone knows that the Bulls don't want him to be their coach next season any organization would be foolish to trade valuable assets. |

A second round pick is not really considered that valuable. Most people on this board thinks that he is a top 5 coach. That's for sure. |

3-4 openings, stay open until after the draft....and then the Bulls dont release Thibbs....now we have the makings of a great saga. |

good thing Bulls only hire rookie coaches, since nobody else would work for these assholes. |

I wouldn't trade anything for him. Unlike Doc with the Celtics I know that the Bulls don't want him. Outside this board the opinions are the same. Obviously I know you don't consider him to be a top 10 coach. |

You will really know that Thibs is valuable if a team that is really not in the hunt for a coach fires their coach to get him, alas the Cubs and Joe Maddon. You will also know is worth if someone is willing to part with a second rd pick to get him. You will also know his worth if someone holds off on hiring a guy until he is fired and rehired elsewhere. If none of these scenarios occur then don't state that he is valuable and highly regarded because he is not. |

Don't allow your opinion of Thibs to blind you from reality my friend. |

If the Bulls whack him there is not doubt that he will have his pick of jobs. He will be coaching in the NBA next yr if he wants to. That is not a true barometer though. Always remember that Vinny Del Negro was once rehired too. |

The Clippers don't have a vacancy. The Pelicans job is the one he should want. The Magic may be willing to pay a premium to get him. |

Regardless of Thib's shortcomings (real or perceived), GarPax know that this team can easily regress next year under a new coach...which would put them on the hot seat. Despite all the rumors, I still think they will bite the bullet and keep him. |

The players also know that this team isn't going anywhere with him. Might as well try something different, if only for the novelty factor. |

Wow. Knew this was a possibility but didn't think it would actually happen. The question is, who will soon be employed by the World's Best Boss? |

Paxson choked Vinnie because he wanted to have an open interdepartmental discussion. |
