“Executives around the league, and people have told me, that the Bulls are very determined to add a talented wing player. Tony Snell has been given a lot of opportunities and he hasn’t established himself, and I’ve been told that the Bulls are open to…whether it’s Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson…maybe not both of them, but either of them if there’s a deal out there that they can bring in the best possible wing player available, they’re open to it. That’s a direction they’re going to go in. They need more shooting…to shape this team towards more of an offensive-minded group.” Adrian Wojnarowski |

conns7901 wrote: Two years, too late. My sentiments exactly. They are not going to get anything for either of them now. Noah has more value than Gibson, but the time to make this move was about 2 yrs ago. Gibson's value was the highest that it was ever going to be. Now they're not going to get much for him.

Agreed. Terrible timing. Thibs pretty much told them that Snell sucks beyond small dosages and they didn't listen. He had more value before the start of this season too. |

Snell is the worst part of this roster. Just start McDermott. Dougie is terrible, but Snell is just useless. |

The Chairman (and Bulls) would have been better off keeping Thibs and getting rid of the backstabbers above him. |

On balance, they seem like decent enough talent evaluators. I hated the way they treated Thibs who are considered to be one of the best NBA coaches and a hard worker. I won't quit the Bulls, but I have a pretty large amount of disdain for the organization. I stuck with Old Man Wirtz and the Hawks through the bad years, so it's old hat by now. |

The Morris twin is on the outs in Phoenix. You figure that they should be able to net him for Taj. That is unless Taj really isn't worth that much after all. |

Hearing rumors with philly centering around a Mirotic/noel swap. I'd like that. |

I'd make that move. Bulls are trying to get younger and more athletic. Mirotic is a tweener. He will never be a starter and probably not much of a contributor for a winning team. |

I think they are thinking more for the future in this one. Gasol and Noah aren't long for the fight. Portis and Noel pairing going forward. |

Maybe for this year, but im not sure how much longer taj, Gasol, and noah will be around, and I'd rather have noel than Mirotic going forward. |

I long for the halcyon days when the likes of a Pau Gasol, and even Kevin Love were dismissed because we had Taj. |

It's really a shame this need for a wing materialized out of nowhere this year. Poor GarPax must have really been caught off guard by this sudden need. |

Well it's probably due to disappointment about Mirotic and Snell. For all my management bashing, I think the Bulls have done all they could. There are things here and there that you can definitely argue about, like holding on to players too long, or letting Asik walk for free, but it's not like those moves or lack thereof prevented us from winning a championship. The truth is LBJ has owned the east since 2010, and every other team just exists for him to beat. |

I don't think that is true. Everyone but LTG and the Bulls organization knew Snell wasn't good. They sat on Gibson too long too. He's had about 90 lower body injuries and it's clear that he doesn't have any lift (couldn't jump high to begin with). Same is true with Noah coming off an MVP type season. They're great at evaluating draft talent but suck when it comes to making deals. |

The truth is LBJ has owned the east since 2010, and every other team just exists for him to beat. The Bulls did attempt to sign Melo in an effort to shore up the wing position. It's always difficult to say which move will put a team over the top also. Who would have ever thought that the drafting of Curry, Thompson and Draemond Green would have put G.S. over the top. None of the three were top five picks and Green was a 2nd round pick. The injury to Rose changed everything. It was going to be difficult to do anything with 20 mil tied up in him. 3 seasons were lost due to injuries to him. I'm a Paxson advocate but he does hold into guys too long. |

They're great at evaluating talent but suck when it comes to making deals. I advocated for a trade of Gibson a yr and a half ago and I was shot down by you. Gibson, to quote the great Dennis Green, was what I thought he was. Now you can barely get a complimentary happy meal for the guy. I thought Snell would be better but I never had him as anything special. I thought that he should play ahead of Etwaun Moore and Hinrich which he does. |
