Colin McGowan at RealGM, that is

Quote:
This unrest—a team out of sorts, a coach at least momentarily out of his depth—is what Reinsdorf, Paxson, and Forman invited. Whether the move to dump Thibodeau and bring in a more affable fellow ultimately works out is yet to be seen, but, most importantly to the folks in charge, the head coach smiles when he sees them in the hallway, just like they wanted.

Nice shots at the loyalty-driven owner throughout. Pernicious myths, I'm sure.

There wasn’t much explanation for Reinsdorf keeping Krause around, except that Reinsdorf trusted his GM, who had been working for him since the ‘70s.

Had to pause at this spot. This is insane. Take shots at Krause for him being difficult to work with, but to suggest Reinsdorf didn't get rid of Krause, even when every important Bull hated him, out of loyalty is beyond stupid. Like him or not Krause was a high performer who excelled at his role, and the Bulls needed him to win those titles.

Yes it is not like Krause was Kenny.

It's not like he drafted Jordan in the 2nd round out of obscurity. He inherited the greatest player of all time when he took the job.

The Pippen/Olden Polynice draft day trade was a great move, but what else goes on his resume? It's not like he had to convince many people to come play with the GOAT.

There used to be a guy here named "Crumbs Krause" whose sig was "I discovered Earl Monroe."

I'll give Krause the Pippen/Polynice deal.

What else should he get credit for?

Horace Grant
Toni Kukoc
BJ Armstrong?

That's all I got.

Well basically outside of Jordan he constructed the core and supporting cast of two different three peat teams. I think that's a huge accomplishment. Perdue for Rodman sealed the east for the Bulls after Grant left. Buechler, Kerr, etc. were deft moves to provide ever elusive outside shooting. He was right on Kukoc - not a HOFer but a dynamic talent who put stress on opposing defenses. Certainly a great find in the second round. In any redraft he's a top fifteen pick. Didn't have late round success in the draft but made up for it with free agents like Harper, Brian Williams, etc.

He's probably just another friend of Thibodeau still doing PR work for him.
