Khabibulin seems like the kind of me-first shithead who, if the Hawks tried to pressure him into retiring or negotiating a release to go overseas, would file a grievance with the union and make a big mess for everyone. Probably not worth the headache. If he can't be kept on LTIR all year, best to loan him to Rockford and take the $925,000 in relief.

EDIT: Avs were up 2-0 on the Wild with 4 minutes to go, gave up the lead, won in the shootout, two-point game becomes three-point game. Bah.

What impact would that have on salary cap/trade deadline acquisitions?
