Too soon?
Hawks finally got some solid rest, but so did the rest of the league, so it doesn't matter quite so much. The Avalanche are cooling off from their torrid start with just 11 points in their last 10 games, which you kind of had to expect with their piss-poor blue line. Wouldn't shock me if they finish out of the playoffs like those pre-Suter Minnesota Wild teams that played over their heads early and then dive-bombed. Still, the Avs always give the Hawks fits by running and gunning in front of lockdown goaltending. This should be a big test for Raanta.
Look, I'll be honest: I don't watch any Avs games. I just don't. I mean, I have Gamecenter, I'll drop in on a bunch of teams, but I never get around to these guys! I should, what with MacKinnon, Landeskog, Duchene, and even Jamie McGinn being players to watch, but I dunno, I get caught up with the Kings or Oilers out west and rarely see anything involving them. So I don't really know what the hell I'm talking about.
Anyway, Varlamov got away with beating up a woman because the prosecution didn't think they could guarantee a win. Avs fans are gloating, which confirms that Avs fans are shitheads. Yeah, live it up, you SUV-driving, bouldering-leaguing, frisbee-golfing fucks. He'll probably start tonight.
Avs: 23-10-3 (49), 21-10-5 adjusted (47), 43.804 expected
Hawks: 26-7-6 (58), 22-9-8 adjusted (52), 51.103 expected
Avs: 2.889 scored (8th), 2.361 allowed (9th), 0.528 differential (8th)
Hawks: 3.615 scored (best), 2.641 allowed (14th), 0.974 differential (2nd)
Avs: 18/109 16.5% on the power play (19th), 90/112 80.4% on the kill (22nd)
Hawks: 32/134 23.9% on the power play (3rd), 90/119 75.6% on the kill (28th)
Hey, I'm not doing these for the Blues and Kings games, so don't wait up. I think sinicalypse should do one.
i didn't read any of that, but what i skimmed over seemed pretty stupid.

again, josh mccown should clearly be the starter!
